I do list them, but again, it's iffy. That's why I considered doing this on a song-by-song basis, which would allow me to make it clearer who the multitasking band member is and whether you're actually playing their two parts in any instance. For example:
Metallica - All Songs
-Rhythm Guitar/Vocals: James Hetfield
-Both parts are only played simultaneously on [insert song/part of song here].
Dream Theater - "Constant Motion"
-Drums/Vocals: Mike Portnoy
-Backing vocals during [phrase #]
Or something along those lines. Should I include that information? |

He does rhythm guitar and I can't think of an instance where you're playing rhythm guitar in a Metallica song, so I'm not so sure if that really counts here. |
Well, basically, he plays everything but the solos. Like, the verses and the choruses and bridges. So we really are playing his part, kind of. Sometimes.
If there's going to be an Multi-Instrumentalist section, then I'll throw this out: there are two or three songs from the first Foo Fighters album (self-titled) as DLC, and Grohl played every instrument part on that album. _________________

Updated for Prong and Underoath, though I need verification that both in-game songs include Drums+Vocals. Thanks for all the help thus far, guys. |

I know the Grateful Dead would be on the list, but it would be kind of confusing to set it up in some way. I think they are mostly Voxtar'd, but there are some that are Voxbass'd. (Sugar Magnolia)
Not to mention VoxDrum (Backing Vocals) for The Dead Weather _________________

Blink-182:
Guitar+Vocals = "All The Small Things", Verses and parts of Outro of "Feeling This", and most of "Down" (I think, this needs confirmation)
Bass+Vocals = "Dammit", "The Rock Show", bridge and parts of Outro of "Feeling This", small parts of "Down" (once again, confirmation for Down) _________________

Beck. E-Pro. Voxtar. Voxbass. Learn it. Love it.
Edit: And I'm pretty sure Ian Anderson voxtars the acoustic part of Aqualung. _________________

Something to check on:
Styx: Guitarist Tommy Shaw also does Lead Vocals on the three "Styx-only" DLC tracks (Blue Collar Man, Renegade, Too Much Time on my Hands). Taking a look at a live video for the first one would seem to confirm he does both at the same time, though I don't know that it's necessarily his guitar part that you play in Rock Band. _________________

The Who - voxtar - "Going Mobile"
Pete Townshend did the lead vocals on that track. _________________

Much appreciated.
I added Brad Paisley and the Dixie Chicks as well -- those are the only two country artists I'm familiar with (not by choice -- just not my kind of music), so I'll need some help figuring out which country artists feature multi-instrumentation. I know there are quite a few, so any contribution is appreciated. |

The Rock Show by blink-182 is voxbassed entirely. :P
Guess someone missed that one.
And All The Small Things is voxbassed as well, but only backing vocals.
Mark only helps sing in the "na na na" part. _________________
