Let the trimming commence!
10/28/10
I'll make a more proper update a bit later, but I just had to share this.
By the way, RJ, <3 and please don't take the filename personally. For all I know, you've already dethroned me here. But I just wanted my one little shot of glory for however long it lasted.

Another "multiple sessions update". With a little under a month until Connecticon (And the tournament), I'm getting into what's really as close to "grinding mode" as I'll ever get, playing the same six songs over and over to really try and get them down cold.
This update has none of those songs, though.
#221. I seem to have "lolfail"ed on the path, if the top scores on the song are any indication, but oh well.
#222. Just decided to attempt it a few times at random. Fun enough song, except for that second phrase. I have to consciously think about that one.
I also re-did some songs for better FCs. These two were the most important, as they eliminated green 99%s from my Scorehero! There's a reason it's the "Emptyeye Scores Poorly On Full Combo Runs Master's Series", unfortunately. Luckily, that series now has two fewer entries in it.

Updates from a couple sessions, actually, although only 2 new FCs this time.
#219 was completely random on what amounted to a warmup. Unfortunately, it's yet another in the "Emptyeye Scores Poorly On Full Combo Runs Master's Series".
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/Emptyeye/Rock%20Band/SomethingAboutYouXVFC.jpg
#220 was just a straight up first-try FC, although the end seems charted strangely, I got through it.

5/XX/10 (Roughly)
Okay, crisis averted. FurySH suggested that I was a good enough vocalist that people would just believe I had FCed Can't Stop Rockin'. I decided to take another approach to the lack-of-proof problem.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/Emptyeye/Rock%20Band/CantStopRockinXVFC.jpg
Seeing as that's a song we plan to play at the tournament I've been practicing for, I have to make sure I have it down absolutely cold, so that's a step in the right direction.
I also got a new FC today, #218. This gives me all the Styx/REO Speedwagon songs FCed...which somehow doesn't have a banner for it (Although Styx by themselves do).

In all, a good day!

I am so pissed off at myself.
But first!
XVox FC #215. First try, although I kind of botched the path.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/Emptyeye/Rock%20Band/WalkLikeAnEgyptianXVFC.jpg
And #216, another entry in the "Emptyeye Scores Poorly On Full Combo Runs Master's Series".
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/Emptyeye/Rock%20Band/WarPigsXVFC.jpg
#217 is what pisses me off. This is because I'm an idiot and forgot to snap a picture of it. But I got Can't Stop Rockin', which is generally regarded as one of the harder songs to FC by those who have actually played it. Bad path though (My score was 286108, about 8K behind the top score). Still, I got it, and I can get it again.

Still tourney practicing.
Got this up to Gold Star level for the first time earlier tonight. The way the tournament I mentioned in the 5/3 update works, we will get completely insane bonuses for this song if we can get it up to a level where we can confidently perform it.
I think this particular run was a -2.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/Emptyeye/Rock%20Band/IMG_0166.jpg
And XVox FC number 214. This song is just a ton of fun to perform.

I haven't done a lot in the way of new 100%s recently, and I don't expect to for awhile actually. This is because, as mentioned, I'll be doing prep for an upcoming tournament in which, amongst other things, performance is a factor. What that means is that I really have to make sure I have whatever songs my band will be picking down cold between now and then.
Despite that, I'll still be here, and with people going on hiatuses both real and fake, I figured I'd buck the trend a little and state emphatically that I will not be doing the same.
Anyway, here's number 213.

Just a quick update to note that I have my first Youtube video (Well, second, but the first wasn't Rock Band-related) currently processing. Hopefully it'll be done soon!
You can check it out here. It's not a new FC for me or anything, but Ridin' the Storm Out is a great song for my vocal range (Of all the well-known Rock Band vocalists, Icemage is probably closest to my vocal range, although his extreme low end is lower than mine; vice versa with extreme high ends). The video itself has some problems with random pops, but the people in RJ and Joe's stream encouraged me to put it up anyway, so here it is.

I did some solo XVox stuff today.
#209 gives me all of the not-RBN All That Remains songs FCed.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/Emptyeye/Rock%20Band/ChironXVFC.jpg
Then I switched to some LEGO Rock Band. Only got one new FC, but that's fine--it took me awhile before I started knocking out FCs left and right on RB2 as well. Anyway, #210
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/Emptyeye/Rock%20Band/ValerieXVFC.jpg
And back to RB2 to finish off the rest of Nevermind for #s 211 and 212.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/Emptyeye/Rock%20Band/ComeAsYouAreXVFC.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/Emptyeye/Rock%20Band/SmellsLikeTeenSpiritXVFC.jpg
Now, a question. I have a video of me FCing Ridin the Storm Out on XVox, but it has some audio problems, namely with random popping throughout the video. Would you want me to upload this somewhere anyway so you can actually hear what I sound like singing?

Amazingly, I did not play Rob the Prez-o-Dent ("Smoke 'em if you got 'em"...) today. Actually, I've never smoked dope in my life, and I don't plan on starting now.
These are actually from yesterday while I was warming up while waiting for the rest of my band to assemble so we could practice for an upcoming tournament.
#205. Tougher than its 1 rating would indicate...you don't get a lot of room to breathe, so you have to just kind of sneak quick breaths in during the choruses especially.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/Emptyeye/Rock%20Band/TwoWeeksXVFC.jpg
#206. At some point I have to finish off "the rest of Nevermind" too (Come As You Are [This version not actually from Nevermind] and Smells Like Teen Spirit)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/Emptyeye/Rock%20Band/LithiumXVFC.jpg
#207 is sort of bittersweet. It's one of my proudest moments, to be sure, in that for a long time I didn't get the song. Unfortunately, I completely botched the overdrive path in this particular run, resulting in something I haven't had in awhile: An entry into the "Emptyeye Scores Poorly On Full Combo Runs Master's Series".
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/Emptyeye/Rock%20Band/WelcomeHomeXVFC.jpg
Finally, #208 finishes off the "REO Speedwagon only" songs. This is, like Welcome Home, another entry into the ESPOFCRMS.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/Emptyeye/Rock%20Band/RollwiththeChangesXVFC.jpg
Considering I did this while waiting for the actual band to play, I'd say that's pretty productive overall, despite the overdrive issues on #207 and 208. _________________

Thanks!
Considering I actually FCed it twice in the session, I want to say it's not that bad at all, but that's not strictly true. The first FC with a horrible score actually came on the first shot at it, but I had at least two of those "pseudo-Awesomes" where you say to yourself "There's no way I filled that pie" yet the game generously gives you an Awesome anyway (By the same token, but obviously far more annoying, is the opposite, where it sure as hell looks like the pie is completely filled yet you only get a Strong. I hate that.. >_<). After saying to myself that there's no way I'm accepting the score, I had a couple attempts end on the third phrase (Apparently "sense" in that phrase actually drops slightly, though that was the least of my problems), and I think the score in the topic came on overall attempt #4. Generally, if you can get to the first "Everything you say to me" with the FC intact, it's smooth sailing from there.
Damn that was a freaking novel in response to a 9-word question. ;) _________________

Always good to see more vocalists on RockBand. Quite good that you got a Painkiller FC so early too.
Good luck on your quest for a FGFC. _________________

Well, everyone said more or less the same thing, so I guess I'll just address everything at once.
@JunkDeLuxe, Nikki, CHawk: Thanks! I had, honestly, sort of half-intended to save Painkiller until my last FC if I ever got that far, but working through the setlist, realized I still had yet to GS it. So I just went for that, and the FC...just kind of happened on the first try. I was standing there for a little bit after the fact like "Wow, I actually just did that."
As for the FGFC, I hope to get there eventually, hopefully by the end of July (Which is when Connecticon is), so I'm working at a good pace to be on target for that so far. Either way, it'll be slow going--I'm simultaneously working on going through my collection of DLC that I bought and haven't even played yet (Amongst other things, most of The Colour and the Shape qualifies here), to say nothing of the RB1 imports (Which, again, I haven't played much of--borrowed the disc from my fiance's brother to import them and didn't touch most of them since. The fact I never owned RB1 means I'm sightreading a lot of those too.).
Anyway, bump for a new GS and some new FCs, including the rest of the Nirvana songs. _________________
