That's actually kinda what I was expecting to happen. I don't see why there couldn't have been two phrases really close together for an easy gold. If you take a look at Helen Wheels it only has 6 notes with less than 2k and it still golded.

I'm pretty sure I remember golding that in RB2. It does have overdrive in it. _________________

Yeah, we put OD and fills in that one. We tried going the Indulgence route before, but that got shot down. It's definitely possible to gold. |

It's entirely a solo, but is not marked as such. It does have OD and is indeed GS-able. _________________

New song added to the list:
6."Toast (Live)" by Heywood Banks (Drums)
Added: August 4th, 2011
Why It can't be golded:
Seems to be a slight miscalculation with the amount of overdrive added. A little more overdrive in the song might have made this chart goldable. Un-goldable on both regular and PRO drum charts.

New song added to the list:
7."Scissors" by Emery (Keyboard)
Added: August 25th, 2011
Why It can't be golded:
Similar to the "Envision" chart, there are only a few notes on this chart and simply no overdrive.

It may not be goldable in RB3 but it is goldable in RB2 because of the extra solo bonus isn't configured with the gold cutoff.
8."If It Means A Lot To You" by A Day To Remember (Drums)
Added: October 27th, 2011
Why It can't be golded:
It has a little over 300 notes and only one unison. It may be on the verge of golding but have only played it once. It also may be goldable on regular drums. It would help if someone can confirm this.

My friend and I have both played on regular drums, tried instant activation and skipping 1 fill, still no gold. |

The Massacre (Rock Band Mix) by FantomenK is not goldable on vocals. There is a mere seven (talkie) phrases and no OD. _________________

BRODYQUEST just went up, and it's impossible to GS on vocals, simply because there's no OD, and even if there was, there's no gap in the vocals to allow an activation.
Still, you get a score of 94,000 out of the song, which is more than guitar (which can be golded). |

If there would not be any places to activate then what is the point? _________________

I'd be willing to bet there was actually OD on vocals at first, but playtesting revealed that you never got a chance to activate it, so they just removed it.
Watch here. Notice how it just never stops. |

Actually, there were originally no vocals. Due to the heavy modulation.
When they added it, I suggested putting a gap during the hi-hat break since you can hardly hear vocals there anyway, but that'd be technically inaccurate, so there was really no way to have OD.
Also worth noting (as has been noted before)- overdrive is not a requirement. It's generally considered bad practice to leave it out without reason, but very minimal charts don't require it since it'd be useless.
(That said, I am working on a song with 8 measures of keys, and even it has enough OD to deploy and should gold-star.) |
