Oh, and I'd be willing to host the mini-rivalries if necessary, or at least some of them. I think about 20 mini-rivalries could be a bit much to handle as one person, if they're also assembling all of these other bands.

And if there's enough people for 2 bands in one region, I think that they should battle it out to see who will be representing their region.

EDIT: Sorry, sbury, but I just passed you again on the Vox leaderboards...

I'm pretty sure I can get Smote (X-bass 360) and Scatterbrain (H-drums 360) in on this as well. That still leaves Alabama short a vocalist though.

About to update the OP with all new signups, as well as the new NW/SW/NC/SC/NE/SE split up so everyone can see where they are.

I think what I'm going to do is split it up, then have everyone choose the instrument they think they'd be best at, and we'll do a mini-rivalry (say, 1 or 2 weeks), to determine winners for each instrument, then the winners become the band for their respective region. I think this is the most fair way to do this.

So, everyone please PM me with what instrument you'd like to play (I'm doing separate mini-rivalries for Guitar/Bass, so make sure you distinguish which one you would like to play). Still got another month or so before signups end, so everyone please bear with me, I'm just trying to get as many people involved in this as possible. So tell other people that haven't signed up, so we can make this a big thing.

So is there still any interest in this? I've gotten PM's from only about half of the people signed up, and still want to have quite a few more sign up to make this a little more competitive. I'm hoping to have 3-4 people in each instrument in each region.

So does everyone still want to do this?
