HOLYSHITHOLYSHITHOLYSHIT
This is the first time I'll pop in the game in a full year, and I'm going to have a damn good time doing it. What an amazing week. _________________

The fact we got Phantom of the Opera is so amazing I could actually care less about the rest of the songs (even though I love all them to)
Makes up for the fact that we will probably never get The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner or Afraid to Shoot Strangers.
Great job HMX _________________

Man, there hasn't been any DLC I've gotten excited over in a few months. I guess I'll just log on and check what HOLY SHIT MAIDEN!
Phantom of the Opera?!
Flight of Icarus?!
RIME OF THE ANCIENT MOTHERFUCKING MARINER?!
Holy shit balls, this pack is fucking INCREDIBLE! Icarus and Phantom are going to be SO FUCKING GOOD on vocals! Hot titties, I am buying everything!
Man, my only complaint about this pack is that it reminds me how we have a few other awesome vocal tracks without harmony support, like Powerslave and Two Minutes to Midnight. UPGRADEZ PLZ! _________________

It's unfortunate that this is an epic themed pack, because I really want Wrathchild again.
Unfortunate in a "Holy shit, this is God damn freaking amazing do want so much holy fuck can't wait." kind of way, of course. Glad to see we're getting some Di'Anno Maiden, though. I was worried we'd never get some because of the live tracks in the first pack. Speaking of the first pack, I do kind of wish that they were all organised properly, by album rather than part of some sort of Rock Band greatest hits pack in-game, but differences between songs is always going to be niggling annoyance for me. Different genres for one artist, different album arts, hell, even songs from the same album being marked as different ones even when they're from the same pack (The Billy Joel songs spring to mind when I mention that).
Anyway, I digress, I digress. This is great. Really great. _________________

OH MY GOD!!!!! YES!!!!
I CANNOT believe this pack is real! All of the songs in here are pretty much fantastic. In fact, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Phantom of the Opera, and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son happened to be my three favorite songs from Maiden, period. The Prisoner is one of my favorites from NOTB, and Infinite Dreams is sweet too. That said, I could do without Flight of Icarus, as it's one of my least-favorite songs by them. In fact, I would rather have Wrathchild, since FOI isn't even 4 minutes long, and then I would be satisfied with all the Maiden we have (RB4 or Blitz maybe?) But I would rather have FOI than just a five-pack, and it makes sense for a pro upgrade.
So I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that this is favorite pack in Rock Band EVER, and I've been playing actively since the game came out. Rime is a song I've wanted for YEARS and never expected it due to its length, much less it getting Pro (it's my #1 favorite Maiden song). I just can't even believe this pack exists. It's like a dream come true. If you don't know these songs, buy the pack anyways. All of the songs are long, fun, and challenging (Rime is 13 1/2 minutes, all others are over 6 minutes long).
Best pack ever. _________________

Phantom of the Opera..?
PHANTOM OF THE MOTHERFUCKING OPERA?!
KAY HARMONIX, I'M SOLD, THIS IS THE BEST PACK EVER.
Seriously, there are few things that could beat that song alone. (In fact, I can only think of three, Metropolis Pt. 1, Under a Glass Moon and the entirety of Scenes From a Memory)
Boy did I get MS points at the right time. |
