The proverbial nail in the coffin for Guitar Hero, eh?
Great week it looks like I'll be buying Somebody to Love, Black Magic Woman, and TtFaF. Still on the fence about OpGrndPnd.
Edit: Also, if they do chart the intro to guitar (which imo they should), I'm really hoping it counts as a solo so as to make it lol easy with the solo buttons. _________________

I'll probably pick up the Santana song, don't think I know the other two from that pack. Dragonforce can continue to fuck right off, of course. _________________

Oh wow. Been waiting to see Black Magic Woman makes its way onto RB for so long, glad to finally see it here. As for Dragonforce, I'm just pretty damn scared and interested in how they chart it. Maybe one of the two will be Full Band devil tier as well? _________________

Vocals will probably only be a 1 or 2 on either song. |

The simple thought of a Dragonforce song on pro-tar is enough to collectively destroy fingers throughout the universe.
Although, on THAT thought, how many guitar 'notes' that we saw in GH3 will be added to the keyboard part instead? _________________

Also, that's two GH3 tracks in RB now in one go.
Quick check of wiki of songs in both games off the main setlist:
Reptilia
Sabotage
Suck My Kiss
Story of My Life
Mississippi
School's Out (technically live version for RB)
Bulls on Parade
When You Were Young
Paranoid (stuck in RB1 though)
Kool Thing
Even Flow
Holiday in Cambodia
Black Magic Woman
Cherub Rock
The Metal
Pride and Joy
Before I Forget
Black Sunshine
3's & 7's
Hit Me With Your Best Shot
The Number of the Beast
Bonus songs:
Closer
Hier Kommt Alex (not playable in RB3 though)
My Curse
Ruby
Through the Fire and Flames

I'm both interested in playing the DragonForce and worried about the charts...I haven't been really playing the more recent DLC, but from what I've seen of RB3 DLC charts I'm not a huge fan of the way Harmonix charts nowadays. These issues in particular bother me:
Quote: | 1. They better not chart it ala Hangar 18
2. They better force hopos in the strumming. Hopos in strumming on the RB3 engine is glitchy. |
Seriously, I really hope they don't ruin what should be two really really fun songs by charting them like shit. I have a bad feeling that this will happen though. At the very least I expect at least one of the hard parts from GH3 (Bridge 1/What The/Twin/Snake) to be charted really stupidly and awkwardly, though it's also probable that at least one of those parts will be way easier than the GH3 chart (the snake is clearly overcharted in GH3, so I expect that to be easier). Just watch them chart What The like the GHSH version but with random strums...I wouldn't put it past them. About the intro, I don't particularly care whether or not they chart it, though I think they should. It will definitely be more fun with it than without (and it IS guitar in the studio version, not keyboard).
Also I'm really glad these are being released now rather than back in RB2 times...DragonForce strumming would be annoying as fuck on that shitty strumming engine.
Oh yeah and the other songs are actually pretty cool too; looking forward to everything this week. First time I've actually given a shit about RBDLC in a long time.

Off the top of my head...probably just synth death. I'm pretty sure everything else in that chart is guitar. _________________

AWESOME, I HOPE WE GET SO-
Quote: | Guitar Hero repeats |
U gias
This is pretty much just as bad as when GHVH had Painkiller.
And of course, the Santana song. Same situation. I'd have probably bought it if I didn't already have it hurr
But good for you guys who don't care about repeats. Enjoy your power metal. (This would be the first HMX-released power metal DLC, wouldn't it?)
EDIT: Interested to see the charts, though. I haven't been a big fan of Harmonix's charting choices since the Anthrax pack -shudder-. Should be interesting to see how they handle Dragonforce. _________________
