Quote: | Hey gang,
We have some good news from the Rock Band 4 front!
We're hard at work trying to make Rock Band 3 exportable into Rock Band 4 and are shooting to have that available with the December 8th feature update.
As a corollary, we are rapidly approaching the expiration of our ability to sell Rock Band 3. This means that you have until October 30th to buy Rock Band 3 from the Xbox Live Marketplace or until traditional retailers run out of stock (if you're into that kind of thing).
So, if you are new to Rock Band 4, we strongly recommend picking up Rock Band 3! It's got a fantastic sound track that will be exportable. If you have already bought Rock Band 3, get ready to rock with all that great music in Rock Band 4. A few notes:
Any tracks from the Rock Band 3 disc with authored guitar solos will feature upgraded Freestyle Guitar Solo and Freestyle Vocal features. For those of you who haven't played Freebird with Freestyle Guitar Solos (which is everyone except for the Harmonix staff), you are in for a real treat.
Don't forget - you can toggle between the new Rock Band 4 features and legacy features, like originally authored guitar solos, right in the middle of each track!
The Rock Band 3 export will be available for $14.99 for people that are verified purchasers of Rock Band 3 only.
We will be automatically verifying your purchase electronically, which means that you'll need to have bought a new copy and played Rock Band 3 for our export process to work. If, for some reason, our electronic check doesn't work for you, please contact our Customer Support portal here.
While the Rock Band 3 game is expiring, the export offer itself will be valid for the foreseeable future. As long as you have the game, you can take your time and well give you plenty of notice before the export offer is set to expire.
We're still working on supporting previously exported Rock Band titles in Rock Band 4 and hope to have that content available for those of you who have already exported into Rock Band 3 later on. Stay tuned for more updates! | See the link for a chart with information about which titles will and won't export. _________________

Wonder if Imagine is going to have it's 5keys chart moved over to guitar or if they're going to stick with it being no-part? |

This is great news, but that article only seems to be for the Xbox users. I play on the PS4 side, and I am hoping all this works on that system as well. A related question: so Blitz is up and working on the Xbox side, is it hiding somewhere on the PS side or am I missing something? I did a search for Rock Band (scrolled through all that), for Blitz (scrolled through all that), and nowhere did I see an option to download, purchase, or even rent/play through the PS+ store for Blitz. _________________

To import your Blitz tracks what you have to do is load up Blitz on your PS3, at which point the game will prompt you to redownload your soundtrack pack onto your PS3. Do so, then shut down your PS3 and turn on your PS4. Then highlight Rock Band 4 and under your related items you should see all of the Blitz tracks which you can download from there. _________________

...So this means I need to get as many of the previous games/download/unlock as many of the songs as possible? Right? |

If you haven't already exported the previous games other than RB3 then you're basically screwed. _________________

For AC/DC, Classic Rock, Country Pack, Metal Pack, and RB TP2, if you still have a working code, it will still work. (For Blitz you don't need a code) _________________

I wasn't counting the track packs as "games" seeing as though they're essentially just DLC bundles. _________________

Just downloaded the RB3 Export last night
They did charted the piano on Imagine to Guitar now
There's no section for Export or RB3 in the song list, you have to sort by Date Acquired _________________

Was able to get the RB3 songs imported into my RB4 game on the PS4 today. Oddly, I did not find the RB3 pack available anywhere on the PSN. Instead, in the in game store for RB4 there is now an Exports section. Hopefully, this is where the options for the other RB game exports will show up when they happen. Interestingly, it does not download all the songs at once, you make the purchase and then download each song individually. This will make some people happy as now you can prune out some unwanted songs from your setlist by just never downloading them. Bohemian Rhapsody test confirms that some keys parts are just not included now.
Additionally, it appears that all my non expired song DLC is present and downloadable finally. Odd hold outs like the Dave Matthews Pack and Santa Monica are now playable again. The one strange part, largely due to how it was sold is 2112. On the RB3 side I bought the whole track, which then gave you the pieces as well. On the PS4, in the store it shows up as being purchased, and installed, but does not appear anywhere in RB4. As I have credit for the whole "track pack" the individual parts are unavailable for purchase for me. Obviously, this one was an unusual case, buying a song and getting a track pack for free, but I am looking forward to getting to play some 2112 in RB4 at some point. Hopefully, its able to be resolved. _________________
