But was it better or worse than my soul-rending public rendition of "American Music"? We have to know how such performances compare to our notional gold standard. |
Haha, I don't think anything will ever top your performance of American Music by Violent Femmes. I'm still crushed that we didn't manage to get any of it on video, only the aftermath. _________________

I will give Janis Joplin one thing.
She just won me a TV on the Radio EP. _________________

Xbox.com doesn't really seem to want to work just now. Something tells me it's because of the upcoming dashboard update.
EDIT: Oh nevermind, pack's up on the dashboard. And haha, how they got around Hash Pipe's more questionable lyric ("eyes wide", sure Harmonix). |

According to official word, that is actually what he's singing. *shrug* It's kinda like that bit in Aerosmith's 'Love In An Elevator', where officially he's singing "Jackie's in the elevator" but everyone I know (apart from me) hears it as "shagging in the elevator". _________________

Alas, the Green Album has no lyrical insert, so I'm just going off lyric sites and my own dirty mind here. I guess people will always just assume the dirtiest about a song (then again, considering Hash Pipe's subject matter...) |

I always heard it as eyes wide. That was like the one lyric in the song i actually understood. _________________

Why is the little post-chorus bit missing from Hash Pipe? The bit where the guitars lay on heavy for like 2 bars, Rivers repeats "I got my hash pipe", then it goes back to the main riff. My mp3 has that going on after the last 2 choruses. Also, the RB3 version cuts off the first chorus after "eyes wide". What's the deal? What version is this? _________________

The video version. Which may also have been the CD single and radio version, but to be honest I never heard it on the radio and it's like ten years since I listened to the single. So I might be wrong on that. But it's definitely the video version.
Incidentally: the Hash Pipe CD single had the best b-side ever. The UK CD single, that is. The b-side from the US single was on the UK version of the album. Confused yet? _________________

A Keys solo that's long enough to eclipse the beginning AND the end of a guitar solo? Sure, calling it a guitar solo is a stretch, but yay keys solos. _________________
