I'll still buy them both, but this was a huge missed opportunity, imo. Also, gotta wonder if Aerials will be the full song, or if they'll cut out the tribal-esque ending. |
None of the songs you mentioned are singles, except Lonely Day. It's not a missed opportunity just because you'd rather have a different song. I honestly don't understand what everyone in this thread THOUGHT we were getting, since these two choices are really obvious. HMX said they were releasing the two of the most requested SoaD tracks, and anyone who didn't think that Aerials and Hypnotize were front-runners from that description were just fooling themselves.
Anyway, excited for Aerials and Pro Guitar for it but I may have to hold off simply because my DLC money is getting pretty tight. _________________

Just the SOAD songs I called/wanted, cool beans. If we get a pack later on with Lonely Day, Question! and Sugar that would be great. Don't recognize For What It’s Worth so I guess that breaks the month and a half long streak of knowing every song released. Turning Japanese is great, Man on the Moon is eh, never really found REM that interesting. _________________

Getting Turning Japanese (GH80s!)
Not too bothered about Hypnotize, but I might get Aerials. _________________

Funny, I had the random urge to listen to Turning Japanese just yesterday. We need more (read: all the songs) from the GH80's set list.
EDIT: Why does System of a Down ever let that other guy sing? Serj Tankian's voice is the best part of that band. _________________

Yes Aerials is my favorite System of a Down song. I wouldve taken Cigaro over Hypnotize, but Hypnotize is a pretty good choice. Never played GH 80s, never was into Buffalo Springfield, and REM's pretty cool, but I don't recognize the choice. A pretty spread out week though, props to HMX. _________________

The choices are obvious, but that doesn't mean we can't hope for something else. Just like when we got Smash Mouth DLC I was hoping for something unexpected in addition to All Star, since they have so many better songs, and so on. It's just kinda harsh to say that people who are disappointed with the choices are foolish. :/ Like I said I can't really complain, I've gotten most of what I wanted from SOAD, but y'know, everyone is entitled to their wishlist.
Also, it's a missed opportunity in his opinion. Seems kind of unnecessary to scold somebody for having a unique opinion when he wasn't rude about it.

wow this is a great week, I'll probably only get SOAD but I like all the songs (and I'm even guilty of liking the Winds of Plague cover of For What It's Worth...) _________________

You can dislike the songs all you want, and you can wish for other songs all you want. My point is given the info we had, that we were getting two SoaD songs that were highly requested, expecting anything that wasn't a single would be absurd. You shouldn't have gotten your hopes up in the first place if you wanted a deep cut.
As for his opinion, slapping "imo" on a statement doesn't make it infallible. It doesn't mean I can't disagree with it. This is not a missed opportunity by any stretch of the imagination, unless the opportunity being missed is pleasing him. _________________
