My pedal reinforcement - cheap, easy, effective, yet professional looking.
No drilling, no bolts.
Material needed:
6 x 12 inch piece of 1/8" thick aluminum. I got mine at a scrap yard for $2
Jig saw with metal blade (or band saw if your that lucky)
Double sided tape
Sandpaper
Optional: Piece of stick on foam (like some use on the drum heads).
Except for the Aluminum, I had all this stuff around.
Trace the shape of your pedal on the aluminum with a marker
Cut out with jig saw
Sand edges smooth
Stick on pedal with double sided tape.
Optional: Stick the felt on the aluminum for a comfy stocking foot feel, and good grip. Trim to edge of aluminum.
Mine has been on since December, played through Med, Hard and Expert and the pedal is still perfect. |

Can somebody please help me with opening the Wii drum set? I've gone through 2 RMAs and if this new one that is coming is broke I would like to mod it. |

Prob too late to help, but if you're still struggling with opening the wii set, the heads are just snapped into place.
Each has 4 rubber stoppers that you can see from underneath. The easy way to pop them off is to take a pair of needle nose pliers and squeeze the rubber stops then push up on them. It takes a bit of force, but not huge.
You won't be able to get to all 4 on the yellow and blue pad as the stand sockets obscure one stopper. Just pop the other 3 and then pry the pad off by hand.
If you don't have nnpliers, you can use a flat screwdriver and push on one side of the stop with it and then push down forcing it out.

This has nothing to do with modding but I've looked and found nothing for my problem...
So like countless other people my basspedal broke a few days ago....
Any ideas on fixes??? (it's completely snapped) And my mom threw away the pieces beside the bottom part... |

So what is the extra port in the back of the drums. And what does it do? _________________

I essentially did the same modification to my stock pedal, however, the pedal will eventually fail at the hinge, as mine did. All of stress is transferred by the aluminum to the next weakest point, which is the hinge.
Just a warning for those that think this will be a permanent fix. It did buy me about 4 months, but it did fail eventually. _________________
