I'm having so much trouble with this. I have a drum custom ready put in reaper and export. First thing, can't have a 5 note cord in easy difficulties, not a problem go into Feedback and paste the expert notechart for each instrument. Then, about 2 hours later and a shitload of frustration from trying countless things, it crashes because of how long the error list is. It can't be THAT fucking hard can it?

First off, why in the world would you have a 5-note chord on anything other than Expert, let alone Easy? That's not right.

Second, convert it to a mid file and drag it into Reaper. I've never had a problem with it... Maybe your mid file is just plain broken somehow.

It puts a 5-note chord in the beginning by default if you haven't charted. Put hellashes Prequel To The Sequel chart in exported project midi tried to compile in Magma and this is what I got,

Well that looks pretty straightforward to me. I think you need to take a look at some official HMX RB2 midis to see how they're laid out. Seems you've got some misnamed tracks (like drums, vocals) as well.

What part of that error report are you not understanding?

Magma looks for VERY SPECIFIC track names, your midi obviously doesn't meet those specifications. Your fresh out of feedback midi won't work without some changes, like to track names. That is probably one of the easiest errors to diagnose and fix. Go download the Harmonix supplied sample Reaper project and see how it differs from yours.

Your drum section appears to be named wrongly. Add an S on the end

Is there a way to convert the RBA to a mid or chart?

Ok so I'm getting these errors, but I'm not 100% on how to fix them:

Build started at 6:07 PM.
Reading the archive
Project Compiler: Reading project 'C:\Users\Chris\Documents\swdf.rbproj'...
Project Compiler: Entering Phase 1 of 6...
Metadata Compiler: Starting...
Metadata Compiler: Done.
Project Compiler: Entering Phase 2 of 6...
MIDI Compiler: Starting...
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: c:/users/chris/downloads/decade.mid: Track BEAT required but not found
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: c:/users/chris/downloads/decade.mid: Track PART DRUMS required but not found
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: c:/users/chris/downloads/decade.mid: Halting compilation due to missing and/or extraneous MIDI tracks
MIDI Compiler: Done.
ERROR: Project Compiler: Midi compiler failed.
Build ended at 6:07 PM.

I understand that I will probably have to change the names of the tracks, but I'm not sure how to do this. In Reaper, it appears as if the tracks are already named properly. I'm very confused as to fix this...

REAPER wrote:
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: c:/users/chris/downloads/decade.mid: Track BEAT required but not found

Translation: your mid needs a Beat track. Read this page to learn how to create one. A quick, but often very inaccurate, way of doing it is copying and pasting the BEAT track from the HMX template track. Make sure you read the Beat section in the link though!

REAPER wrote:
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: c:/users/chris/downloads/decade.mid: Track PART DRUMS required but not found

Translation: your drum track is titled incorrectly. Make sure it's ALL CAPS and has an S on the end of drums. Check to make sure there aren't any spaces you may have accidentally put before PART or after DRUMS.

REAPER wrote:
ERROR: MIDI Compiler: c:/users/chris/downloads/decade.mid: Halting compilation due to missing and/or extraneous MIDI tracks.

Translation: the mid is broken so the compiler will not proceed until the errors are fixed.

Thanks for the help inimitable, but are you sure thats the only possibility for the Part Drums? I'm still getting the error, and I'm pretty sure I have the tracks labeled properly. Here's a screenshot for reference:

I at least got rid of the beat error. I'm trying to import these songs through Magma, which I've read is very picky when trying to upload a custom to Audition mode.

If you knew anything about an RBA you'd know how ridiculous that sounds.

Except it really isn't ridiculous to extract the .mid out of the .rba if you know what you're doing. And once you have a .mid you can easily make a .chart.
