Waiting to see this thread pop up.
Why do you guys INSIST on making me play early-tier songs ad nauseum??
Seriously though, good to see you making a push on Hard. Someone's going to need to dethrone me once I cross over to expert _________________

Seriously though, good to see you making a push on Hard. Someone's going to need to dethrone me once I cross over to expert | Because I still cant consistently nail rolls longer than about 8 notes on my stock set
And also because I was like 6th or 7th so I was trying to raise my score and figured as long as I'm doing it might as well do it all the way

Focus on that and you'll be the next 5 star. I'm still 10k away. | I was until you went back to medium a couple nights ago and that kinda put me back there. I'm going to go through medium and get sole first place and FC on every song in the game. Then I won't have any reason to go back to it and I'll focus more on Hard. I feel like I could 5* RttH if I dedicated a day to it but the song kinda annoys me I never want to play it more than once in a row. Same with Next To You which just melts my foot. (And the last time I played it, snapped my bass pedal) |

You're kidding, right?
34 points?
1st is yours, man. No way in hell I'm sitting for 9 minutes just to try to squeeze out a slightly better BRE.

LOL good. Im curious - did you squeeze? Cause took all zeros but I squeezed the first 3 activations and just barely got 1st so I'm wondering if you squeezed or pathed to that score. I might duel you on expert when I get my omegas..I dont want to play too much expert on the stock pedals cause its too much stress.
On a similar note related to this thread I finally 5*d Next to you and I hit 135k on Run To The Hills. 'fraid I hit a bit of a ceiling on RttH though..I cant for the life of me hit all the bass kicks on the "quick part". I might be able to eek out a 5* if I FC everything outside of the two fast parts. I don't know how you guys nail those fast red rolls. _________________

Chances are you're going too fast on those quick reds. Take it into practice and slow it down a little to get the speed. You should be able to pick up pretty fast. It's fast, but not so fast that you can't handle it. _________________

I'm hitting like 90-95% of them but cant ever hit all of them consistently. I cant really hear the drum track in my earphones over the guitars well so I tend to speed up or slow down and break the combo. The main thing I need to learn is the bass hits in the fast part before the reds. I can hit half the bass notes (the ones corresponding to the Y notes) but if I try to hit the other ones it fucks me all up. _________________

3 things...
1) no path on GG&HT, but I squeezed if memory serves.
2) for RTTH, the guitar solo section is exactly like the verse, except with 2x the kicks. so instead of RRR RRY+O, it's RRR+O RRY+O. Just focus on keeping a steady beat with the foot, and let the hands go on autopilot.
3) Take a big tube sock, slit it halfway down, and tie/wrap it around your red pad. For me, that's the difference between failure and 4* on RTTH (Expert). Trust me, it helps. _________________

What exactly does the sock do to help? I thought it helped people with certain sets register notes that were dropping. My pads dont drop any notes at all. It registers every hit no matter how fast/slow/soft/hard I hit it. My problem is just that that fast bass part just seems unnatural to me, hitting the red pad and and bass and nothing with the right hand just seems off to me, I need to get used to it. _________________
