Couldn't you chart the keyboard as guitar and just make the entire song a solo?
This way, you'd be able to use Solo Buttons the entire time, but don't have to strum.
I'm in the process of making a keyboard chart for Foreplay/Long Time to put it in Rockband(PS2) and my friend has a PS3 Strat.
Wouldn't it work fine?

Actually, something I've been trying:

Plug in a real keyboard, and plug in headphones. Set the headphones on a speaker, and the mic inside of them. Turn Mic Sensitivity up all the way. I've been able to get roughly 78% into RttH Mic Medium. D is both the top and bottom note, and low C seems to be the split (it will rapidly go between the top and bottom of the staff). This way, you actually feel like you're playing keyboard as you actually have to match up the notes with what's sung, and the shout vocals can be picked up from the game with the extra sensitivity.

Go play Synthesia. http://www.synthesiagame.com/

Or am I completely misunderstanding this?

I was thinking about making somthing like a keyboard hero, however I'm trying to look into making hardware for it.

I like your idea of the strat solo buttons, but I think for a true keyboard experience you would need 2 charts.

Kind of like 5 buttons for a left chart and 5 buttons for a right.

I already have some songs that I would like to chart, but I am not too computer literate

Foreplay/longtime a good sonh with organ to chart though. Let us know how it turns out.

Wow. I gotta say thanks for that post - I had never heard of this program before. Very interesting stuff. And you're absolutely right, there's no point modding to make an imitation of Synthesia.

I thought about adding that functionality into Unsigned.

Here's the problem (with the 360 hardware at least):
The solo buttons overlap the regular buttons. The only difference is that the solo buttons also press down a "solo button key" (Left bumper methinks). So if, e.g., solo-green is down, there is no way to tell if reg-green is down.

Why not just play Frets on Fire. You can use the F1 - F5 keys to play if you don't have a guitar.
