|
|
On October 28th, 2009, the South Park episode "Whale Whores", the source of the eventual Eric Cartman cover of Poker Face aired, and during the episode a brief snippet of actual Rock Band game play is shown, although missing its actual audio since the aforementioned cover of Poker Face is there in its place.
A few days later on the 31st a thread was posted here in Misc RB inquiring about the song that was being played, with the only footage being the 2 second or so clip from the show. As anyone could see from reading said thread, no progress was made and the thread was locked after a few days.
Fast forward to December 17th, 2023 and scorehero user AWiseMoose posts the video, minus the obviously irrelevant audio from the show to twitter, asking for help figuring out what the chart shown actually is.
Somehow remembering the short-lived thread from over a decade ago, I relocated it and within its largely useless speculation I found a link to Kawigi's song stats, somehow still functional after all these years.
After replying with this information another scorehero alum, PuppetMaster looked through the list and discovered what the song was. It's Street of Dreams by Guns n' Roses, a comparison is available here.
EDIT 12/26/23: the story has now been picked up by at least one news site. _________________
