When Beastie Boys released their debut album, Licensed to Ill, in 1986 it quickly became the first hip-hop album to top the Billboard 200 chart. Thanks in no small part to the Top-10 smash Fight For Your Right, it ultimately held the top spot for 7 weeks. The uproarious video was in heavy rotation on MTV and helped usher Mike D., MCA, and Ad-Rock into the cultural zeitgeist. Licensed to Ill has now sold over 10 million copies to date, and firmly rests as one of the most important and influential albums of the era. With a yeah! and a kick It!, Fight For Your Right jumps right into the action from the get go. Wailing guitars, shredding riffs, lots of hats and crashes - this one has it all. Vocal cadence will be key while trying to match three MCs so make sure to practice your flow.

Bring The Noise was originally released on Public Enemys 1988 seminal album, It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. The song caught the attention of fellow New Yorkers, Anthrax, who started covering the song at their gigs. The two groups went on to collaborate and released the genre-blending re-recording Bring Tha Noize in 1991. The song was included on Public Enemys fourth album, Apocalypse 91 The Enemy Strikes Black as well as the Anthrax B-side and rarities collection, Attack of the Killer Bs and led to a Public Enemy/Anthrax co-headlining tour in the fall of 91. Guitars shred throughout the song while there are some great, funky breakdowns for drummers. The vocal interplay between Chuck D., Flava Flav and Scott Ian offers a fun and unique twist for those on mic duty.
