Let me know if Xenoblade is as awesome as it looks!! |
Im trying to make my way through it. I'm only on Chapter 1 so I havent even touched it really but it has a huge learning curve to get through and I'm struggling a little to really understand what the hell is actually going on. Still I'm liking the concept of it, and visually it is very impressive (even for a Wii U game) I can tell it's going to be an epic of a game I just need to find the time to really put into it and real life has gotten in the way for a bit. Buy it, you wont be disappointed I don't like smash bros either, lol
In the meantime, I said screw it and started playing through the setlist on Expert and have managed to get up to 33/63. Im not sure where I will end up but I'm hoping to get into the 40's. 50 would be my ultimate goal but I'm not really sure how attainable that would be until I really get into playing some of the songs.
This is the one I was really happy about, just for a tribute to David Bowie. Oh any I'm using my wife's RB account so I can keep track of what I have completed since I have key-tar done for most of the game :)
Here is what I have so far:
- B-52's - Rock Lobster
- Beach Boys - Good Vibrations (live)
- Blondie - Heart of Glass
- Cure - Just Like Heaven
- David Bowie - Space Oddity
- Def Leppard - Foolin'
- Devo - Whip It
- Dio - Rainbow in the Dark
- Doors - Break On Through (To The Other Side)
- Echo & The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon
- Faith No More - MidLife Crisis
- Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battle the Pink Robots (Pt. 1)
- Golden Earring - Radar Love
- H.I.M. - Killing Loneliness
- Huey Lewis and the News - The Power of Love
- Ida Maria - Oh My God
- INXS - Need You Tonight
- J. Geils Band - Centerfold
- John Lennon - Imagine
- Marilyn Manson - The Beautiful People
- Metric - Combat Baby
- Police - Don't Stand So Close to Me
- Raveonettes - Last Dance
- Slipknot - Before I Forget
- Smash Mouth - Walking on the Sun
- Smiths - Stop Me If You Think That You've Heard This One Before
- Sounds - Living in America
- Spacehog - In the Meantime
- Tears For Fears - Everybody Wants to Rule the World
- Tegen and Sara - The Con
- WAR - Low Rider
- Warren Zevon - Werewolves of London
- Whitesnake - Here I Go Again

Played last weekend and finished off the main setlist with these:
FC#34 - Mana - Oye Mi Amor
FC#35 - Big Country - In a Big Country
FC#36 - Dire Straits - Walk of Life
FC#37 - Swingin' Utters - This Bastards Life
FC#38 - Jimi Hendrix - Crosstown Traffic
FC#39 - Roxette - The Look
I then had a really good session last night and managed to get some really good FC's
FC#40 - Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
FC#41 - Foreigner - Cold As Ice
FC#42 - James Brown - I Feel Good (I Got You)
FC#43 - Night Ranger - Sister Christian
FC#44 - Juanes - Me Enamora
FC#45 - Pretty Girls Make Graves - Something Bigger, Something Brighter
FC#46 - Rilo Kiley - Portions for Foxes
FC#47 - Tokio Hotel - Humanoid
FC#48 - Bob Marley - Get Up, Stand Up
FC#49 - Joan Jett - I Love Rock 'n' Roll
Leaves me with 14 left which I dont think I will get. the only options to at least get 50 is pretty much Du Hast. I could possibly fluke into Dead End Friends. It's funny cause I can get easily in the mid to late 50's if I used to key-tar but that's not what I want to do here. Blows that I can't even get I Need to Know; has a dumb sweeping part at the end of the guitar solo that is impossible. Also blows seeing percentages in the 60's on songs but who the hell can even do them Roundy and Antibodies.
Regardless, I think I will practice Du Hast a bit to see if I can get consistent with the ending part and hopefully get that 50th FC. In the meantime, I will go through the Blitz setlist and then into the vast amount of DLC.

Worked through the Bltz set list over the weekend, ending up with 14/19 FC's
Blitz FC#1 - Blink 182 - Always
Blitz FC#2 - Shinedown - Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom)
Blitz FC#3 - Elton John - I'm Still Standing
Blitz FC#4 - Rick Springfield - Jessie's Girl
Blitz FC#5 - Maroon 5 - Moves Like Jagger
Blitz FC#6 - Barenaked Ladies - One Week
Blitz FC#7 - Pink - Raise Your Glass
Blitz FC#8 - Tears for Fears - Shout
Blitz FC#9 - Avenged Sevenfold - So Far Away
Blitz FC#10 - Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks
Blitz FC#11 - fun - We are Young
Blitz FC#12 - Iron Maiden - The Wicker Man
Blitz FC#13 - My Chemical Romance - Sing
Blitz FC#14 - All-American Rejects - Kids in the Street
I should be able to get Stronger with a bit of luck (there is an alternating part 3/4th's into the song that I can hit rarely. Give it Away has some nasty parts towards the end of the song that are very quick and unexpected; so I may not get those. The other 3 I won't get so I'm not even going to bother :)
I played 1 of regular DLC song:
DLC FC#1 - Tommy Tutone - 867-5309 (Jenny)
I think i will do the 20+ RBN songs I have first to get them done before I really move into the DLC I have.
Probably won't be an update for a while, cheers _________________

Nice little bump to update that I finally got to my 70th Rock Band 3 Expert Guitar FC
I have had such a hard time trying to get to 70 (been stuck on 69/82 for close to 2 years) so it was a surprise when this happened all of a sudden. I could never get the trill lane parts before the solo and after all in one run.
Needless to say, I'm super happy to have finally got this. It's also somewhere around #1331 for total Expert Guitar FC's which is exciting. I still know I won't get to 1500 until I buy Rock Band 4 (which I don't want to buy a new system for).
Cheers for reading!! _________________

Thanks Graf, nice to see some inspiration from one of the better ones still left on the site :)
Here is an updated list of what I have (minus RB4 since I'm not buy an Xbox One until it's like at a bargain price)
Total Expert Rock Band Guitar FC's - 1418/2104
Rock Band 3 - 1347/2031
- Rock Band 1 (47/55)
- Rock Band 2 (55/79)
- Rock Band 3 (70/82)
- Rock Band ACDC (8/18)
- Rock Band Lego (38/45)
- Rock Band Green Day (35/43)
- Rock Band Blitz (14/25)
- Rock Band DLC (1005/1534)
- Rock Band Network (75/144)
Rock Band Beatles - 71/ 73
- Rock Band Beatles (44/44)
- Rock Band Beatles DLC (27/29)
I'm 82 songs away from 1500 total Rock Band FC's (when I include the Beatles game) so I'm going to push myself to accomplish that. I'm going to then aim to get 500 GH FC's (I have about 1000 songs (not including GHL which blows really bad)). Would be great to get 2000 RB/GH FC's
Also, cool to finally get that 1000th DLC FC!!

Just wondering, why do you not include Beatles with the total? And also, what 2 songs do you have for TB:RB dlc? _________________

They are included with the overall total, but separated since they can't be played in Rock Band 3. I'm a bit odd like that :)
The 2 i dont have are the Abby Road medley simply because I hate getting up to The End and missing (multiple times), and Within You Without You, which has some snazzy doublet parts (IIRC). Songs I can do, but just a pain basically. _________________

Ah, I see. I thought you were doing them on-disc x)
and yeah, Abby Road Medley is a pain. Not sure about Within You Without You since I've never seen the chart. _________________

I don't own Rock Band 1 and my Rock Band 2 disc got scratched up about a week after I bought it (a few songs don't work), so it's easier to just play everything in Rock Band 3 :)
As for an update. Been playing a few times a week over the past month and have made some progress. Currently my totals are now this:
Rock Band 3 - 1381/2031 (+34)
- Rock Band 1 (47/55)
- Rock Band 2 (56/79) (+1)
- Rock Band 3 (70/82)
- Rock Band ACDC (8/18)
- Rock Band Lego (38/45)
- Rock Band Green Day (38/43) (+3)
- Rock Band Blitz (14/25)
- Rock Band DLC (1035/1534) (+30)
- Rock Band Network (75/144)
Rock Band Beatles - 71/ 73
- Rock Band Beatles (44/44)
- Rock Band Beatles DLC (27/29)
Gives me a grand total now of 1452 Expert Guitar FC's. Most of the FC's were songs I had not played yet like most of the London Calling album and the horrible Bob Marley songs I'm not sure why I bought, lol.
Hitchin' A Ride was easily my best FC and #1450 to be exact. Played it randomly and hit the solo (missing up afterwards), so I tried again and got it. Smooth Criminal was a real pain. The whole song isn't to bad, it's just that little dumb HO blue/orange - blue part at the end of the song. Happy to finally get Night Lies; I hate when I have FC'd a song in Rock Band 2 but not Rock Band 3 (looking at you Brainpower!!!). Finally managed to get those dumb descending part after the solo :)
Only 48 songs away from 1500. I'm not really sure how much I can get from my remaining songs. I will get to 1500 but it's going to be a real grind!!

Hitchin' a Ride has such an awkward solo to strum. It's fun when you hit it and aggravating when you miss! 70 FC's is nothing to scoff at, good work. _________________

So I haven't really played any music game over the past year. I have managed to play a GH game or two to try and finish of the Hard set list but that's about it. Since I still don't have an Xbox One (waiting till the new one comes out so I can get a One for real cheap as I only want it for RB4), I figured I would try to find something to peak my interest in Rock Band again.
What I came up with was to celebrate the amazing country that I live in and play songs exclusive to it. First thing I noticed was the sever lack of songs that HMX has put out by Canadian bands. Save for Rush there was barely a few dozen different bands. How can we have 1 song from the late 90's era alternative scene; 0 from Our Lady Peace, Sloan, The Tea Party, Moist, Big Wreck, and Levitate is the only one, ugh.
Anyways, there are a ton of Canadian customs out there so this give me something to do and a great way to celebrate Canada's 150th Birthday :)
Here is what I have done so far:
Rock Band Canada (9 total - 5FC's / 4 GS's)
Bryan Adams
Rush
Sum 41
I had most of these done but getting an FC of Fly By Night again sucked. Tried for half and hour to get Levitate by I Mother Earth again, but couldn't get that.
Cheers till later _________________

A fellow Canadian! I agree, there should be more Canadian music! Our Lady Peace, Tea Party, Tragically Hip, Sloan, Matthew Good Band would all be great additions. I know there was a Tragically Hip song on RBN but I feel like they have so much more they could add like Little Bones and maybe one of their slower songs like 38 Years Old. _________________

I never bought "Blow At High Dough" since it was a $3 song but I might have to go back and get that one. I just wish there was some kind of way to know if the band was Canadian or not. The regular DLC is not to hard but the RBN is quite a challenge.
Anyways,
Update #2 - 2017/08/03
I decided to break up the Rush songs as there is quite a few of them. Went through and played the 11 Nickelback songs and the 3 New Pornogrphers songs. Managed to FC 11 of them and GS the other 2 ("Burn it to the Ground" and "This Means War") which I am happy about. BittG's solo is impossible for me, but I should be able to get TMW with a bit of luck. I couldn't get a picture of "Animals" so I just put the more information picture to prove it's an FC.
Here's some pic's of the songs :)
Nickelback
The New Pornographers
I'll finish of those Rush songs hopefully for my next update. _________________

Update #3 - 2017/08/20
Have not had much time to play as the summer is coming to an end and that means work starts up again in September. House stuff is the priority right now. On the Rock Band Canada front, I have 14 more songs played, all of them being Rush songs (besides the Neil Peart song which is kinda like Rush). After playing through the 2112 suite I was in no mood to play it again. Once I have those 3 done I am finished Rush (at least until I play through the 60 or so customs). I got another 10 FC's so thats great!!!
Next update will get those 3 done and continue with the HMX songs. I made a rather large list of those and some RBN one's and need to buy a few to have a complete list (I think it 24 or 25 songs). I don't have any intention of getting really stupid RBN metal songs (save for the few I really like). Should be quite a list to work through. Once that's done, I'll start to work on the customs that members of CCC have put out, can't wait for that :)
Here is what I did this update
Neil Peart
Rush
