Under the Bridge's Pro removal was expected, it happened to AJFA after all. Still, the rest is pleasing to hear. Well, other than the fact that it's being deleted in the first place.

Does anyone know if Guitar Hero will be affected by re-licensing issues?

There shouldn't be any actual connection between Rock Band re-licensing issues and Guitar Hero re-licensing issues, since they're two separate franchises. Having said that, it's safe to assume that Guitar Hero would have to go through similar re-licensing processes, and therefore may encounter similar problems.
Basically, the answer is "maybe, but until we here from the GH people themselves, we have no idea" |

They've probably had some in the past, a Band Hero-related pack simply disappeared off the face of the earth, and I don't recall there being any warning about Dropkick Murphys back in the day either. Activision don't seem to care about the franchise anymore and the staff who worked on the games & DLC are doing other things so there's no one else really to handle the issues. When they get pulled they'll get pulled and we'll be none the wiser.

That's what I was afraid of. I would like to own all of the DLC possible, but if they don't care about the franchise they may not warn us and they'll just take them off completely. Either the ones they couldn't re-license, or all of them; because they're just not interested in getting them re-licensed. And since Harmonix stated that it's a 5-year contract type thing, Guitar Hero's songs will be getting pulled soon. (Unless Activision had a longer contract, uhdunoooo...)

I was only vaguely familiar with it, but hasn't the Guitar Hero store been unavailable for large swaths of time? I seem to remember people being annoyed at the fact they could disc export on GH side because the store server was down.
But yeah, they're subject to the same licensing issues. It's just a matter of how much time they negotiated until they have to renew. Most of GH2's DLC is still up, afiak.
It's certainly possible that Activision being the bigger company, paid more and got 10-year licenses. |

Guys. some news. The tracks already seem to have been pulled from EU PSN a full 13 days early (if not sooner). I went to the store today expecting to buy them, but they don't turn up. At all.
Time to moan on the RB forums, it seems.
EDIT: Or at least, I would if I could log in.

New round of songs coming down from the store: Dinosaur Jr, Electric Six, Joan Jett, Just Kait, Lights Resolve, and Morningwood.
As Henry states, store updates get weird around the holidays so if you want to pick up any of this stuff get it ASAP!

If you're a guitar player you at least owe it to yourselves to get Pick Me Up. One of my favourites. The fact that the second half is all solo helps too. Going to get The Wagon, Fake Friends and the rest of the Electric Six pack.
