|
|
Hey guys! I just bought a new drum kit and really want to get back into Rock Band. It's been prolly 2 years since Ive been active. Anyways, I really want to get some RB3 customs. I've done it before, but always just had the .rb3con.
I have searched thru the forum, and everyone posting their custom songs, only distributes the .mid file. I know that it is against the rules to post rba and rb3con files and I'm fine with that. I just really want to know what to do with that .mid file. There doesn't seem to be a guide to how to create an rba/rb3con file anywhere? And I'm just stuck before I even begin. If anyone has a link, or could spare a couple minutes for instrucitons I will greatly appreciate it! _________________

If it's just the .mid file, you need to use Magma to build your own RBA, essentially, and then use one of the tools out there (RB3Maker is a good one) to convert it to a CON.
If it's an RB3Maker zip file containing the .mid, you just need to get your source audio/album art and then RB3Maker will do the rest. _________________

Thanks bud I appreciate the help. Unfortunatly I just realized I DONT have the original disk, and I have a stupid MadCatz re-release one. That means no customs right? I can still delete TU5 and everything, but I haven't loaded a custom in yet. I guess its off the Gamestop to test out all their copies of RB3? _________________

Yep, you are unfortunately up a creek with a MadCatz disc. :p _________________

So why doesn't the mad catz disk work anyways? So were clear, its a mad catz disk if the mad catz logo pops up while booting correct? Like I said I deleted TU5 from my HDD, but everytime I load up the game it says I need an update...so it would work then? Or is there a TU6 that I don't know about. If TU5 is baked onto the disk, then It would never ask for an update right? _________________

MadCatz discs come pre-baked with TU5; I don't know why it still requires you to download the update (probably something to do with XBL's online architecture). |
