Unless the post by Icemage is true, and the codes for GD:RB Plus no longer work, I see zero reason for Harmonix piecemealing out previously released content with zero upgrades. Basically, I see it as this, if any two of these possibilities are true it would make sense:
1) GD:RB Plus is no longer available for purchase (NOT true)
2) GD:RB Plus codes no longer work (waiting for a confirmation)
3) Green Day tracks released had some sort of upgrade (keys/pro)
4) Green Day tracks released for $0.99 at half price to make up for rereleases and entice buyers.
5) Making all tracks available individually (still at $0.99), or the entire game of tracks available for $20, which is what Plus has been selling for for 2 years now, and includes the free export AND the previous Green Day DLC songs.
Otherwise, this is essentially just a tax on those who are bad at math, really only care for a very small group of songs 10 or less, or is a blatant cash grab. All in all, a very disappointing week of official downloads. Thankfully, I have my 1000+ library of songs to play in Blitz.
On a side note, any mention if they will allow us to export RB3, so we can play those songs in Blitz too? _________________

No, don't you see? Discs aren't being made anymore. There is only a finite number of codes people could have used. Putting it on the shop is better for everyone. If it doesn't affect you, that doesn't mean it's a bad thing. |

So, with the announcement of this week's downloads, they also pointed out that all the Green Day stuff is available as albums/packs.

Over 40 Green Day tracks will be available as part of packs or singles, detailed below. And for the first time, Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrades will be available for two of those tracks – “American Idiot” and “When I Come Around”!
These tracks come on the day of release of the band’s latest record, Green Day ¡Dos!, the second of the three album trilogy entitled Green Day ¡Uno!, Green Day ¡Dos!, Green Day ¡Tré!."

Once again, I think this is great for those who wanted only a very specific subset of tracks but don't want all of them. Assuming, and that might be a big assumption, that the codes for free downloads and export are still good on the Green Day Rock Band Plus, it would really behoove you to get that before Tuesday if you wanted all the Green Day content and didn't already have it. I picked my copy up for $20 from my local Game Stop 16 months ago, and a quick check of Amazon shows that the Xbox 360 version is selling for $37, and the PS3 version for $40. While not as a good a deal as finding Plus (which includes the 6 downloads and a free export code) for less at a local store, you still can get all the content for a fraction of the cost.
In other news, Harmonix has listened to fan demands, and now on the Rock Band store there is a LARGE section of tracks/packs/albums that are listed at sale prices, 50% off in most cases. I finally picked up a few packs that I didn't buy at full price, but seemed a good deal at $.99 a track. If you haven't gotten everything you want or on the fence about, check the sale prices and you might be happily surprised like I was. For the sale stuff, thank you Harmonix! _________________
