|
|
Ok, I have looked through hundreds of threads hoping to find something exactly like what my problem is, but alas I have been unsuccessful. So here goes.
I have a 1st run ION kit bought when they first came out, I have 1 ION 14" cymbal(Blue#1), a Pintech 10" cymbal(Blue#2), and two Simmons 14" cymbals(Yellow and Green).
So thats 4 cymbals with a y-splitter to obtain both an open hi-hat and a ride cymbal.
My issue arises in the form of what I believe is an information receipt malfunction, or whenever I hit the blue tom pad i have a 33% chance it will register a blue cymbal, but only with a certain amount of force(ie; too light and its fine, too hard and its fine).
I was wondering if it might be the fact that the ION pad is malfunctioning or if it is sending an easily misunderstood signal and a different brand pad might fix the issue.
If anyone has any ideas on what I might be able to do I would greatly appreciate it.
tl:dr - my ion set it registering my blue pad as one of my two blue cymbals 33% of the time, how do I fix this. _________________

I'm pretty sure a simple y-splitter isn't going to work for open/closed hi-hat playing. You'd have to get an adapter to make it work that way. Try this:

I believe you may have misunderstood, i simply have 2 blue cymbals connected to the set with a Y-splitter, allowing my to use a second blue for the blue hi-hat or crash when necessary...If you would like I can supply a picture. _________________
