That's strange because in my game I still have 'Funk' as a genre, and it does have a capital F. In the store though, it now says Rock.
I'm on PS3 so this could be because we don't have the patch yet. idk. _________________

Have you looked in LEGO Rock Band? That's where it should be lowercase. _________________

It's definitely lowercase in RB2 360. It may be a patch issue that causes that. _________________

Look at the chart youself >_>

You spend 90% of the time on the song playing the exact same beat, aside from a few short breakdowns and variations. |
While it isn't one of the "top rated", it's still ranked fairly high. 87.8%, and the Golden Foot tag (IE: Amazing drumming). The chart is pretty fun to play IMO, but then that might just be me. _________________

It's lower case in LRB too. Hell, when you sort by category, every genre header is in all caps, except for poor funk (so its ROCK but when you get to funk it's just funk). Basically it isn't programmed into LRB (though Country is hardcoded into LRB thanks to Rascal Flatts). |

ill give the drumming opinion of the funk pack... horrible. I like funk music a lot but the music (especially the ones they picked) fit awfully in rock band. Repetitive long and annoying. _________________

That's a feasible explanation. I don't think this'll affect our chances of seeing some Parliament in RB at all, so I'm happy either way.

Are you having a laugh? AWB was incredible on the traps, and EWF is notably good, too. Sex Machine is understandably dull, but hey. _________________

On a similar note, I just remembered that Brass In Pocket shows up under the genre "pop" for me, unlike the dozens of songs under "Pop-Rock". The other Pretenders songs are under Punk if I remember correctly.
Anyone have an idea why this is? _________________

Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain" (The Album) would like to have a word with those that say Funk is boring. _________________

This thread is hilarious when reading "funk" as "bad smelling". Just saying. Also, moar funk HMX! I love it. _________________

The amount of Funk is very comparable to the amount of Country in this game. They tested the waters with a pack, people were buying the Country, so they put out the Alt-Country and Toby Keith packs soon after.
Funk went the complete opposite way. we got three songs 8 Months ago, and Funk hasn't been heard from since. And now Funk has been completely taken off the Music Store. Presumably because the Funk songs didn't sell all that well.
But no matter what happened, it's a shame we're not getting anymore Funk. (Mainstream, at least) Kool and the Gang, Jamiroquai, More Earth, Wind & Fire. They all would have been good choices.
But alas, I guess I'll just settle for the lesser known Funk that's coming out on the Rock Band Network. |
The RHCP album has a bunch of funky songs, actually.
Edit: yay, 100th post! |

Yeah, but "Funky" and "Funk" are two different things. It's kinda like arguing that The Allman Brothers Band belongs in the Country section. It has it's influences, but it's not Country.
But believe-you-me, I gobbled up that RHCP album the first chance I got. So I'm by no means discrediting RHCP here. |
