|
|
So many of you may be familiar with the solo formula for console Rock Band Versions
Quote: | Perfect Solo: 100%, 100n points
Awesome Solo: 95%-99%, 50n points (Obviously, there's a huge cut for one missed note. Imagine the bonus on a GGaHT FC...)
Great Solo: 90% - 94%, 30n points
Good Solo: 80% - 89%, 20n points
Solid Solo: 70% - 79%, 10n points
Okay Solo: 60% - 69%, 5n points
Messy Solo: 0% - 59%, 0 points |
As you see, missing one note here is a ridiculous cut from your score. Knowing this, I wanted to see if Unplugged did the same.
It did not.
Instead of going by solo rating, the score changed for EVERY NOTE I missed. So I went into the opening solo of "Show me the Way", and got the bonus for each and every percent you can get. As it turns out, you cannot fail this song in the opening solo if you don't play a single note.
Here is the first 6
-0 | 15,500
-1 | 14,047
-2 | 12,689
-3 | 11,421
-4 | 10,240
-5 | 9,144
So its a little weird right. Well, I decided to find out what I could. Now from my count, the solo here contains 31 notes. I learned that chords actually count separate for each note. Missing one chord counts as missing 2 notes. So I divided:
15500 / 31 = 500
So a perfect solo gets you the number of notes, multiplied by 500.
I continued onward, on got this formula as the final formula:
B = Solo Bonus
N = Notes in the solo
M = Notes missed
B = N * (500 * (( N - M ) / ( N )) ^ 3)
In words: the Bonus is equal to the number of notes in the solo, multiplied by 500 multiplied by the percent of notes hit to the third. This number is ALSO rounded down, to the nearest whole number.
Possible solo ratings:
Perfect: 100%
Awesome: 95% - 99%
Great: 90% - 94%
Solid: 80% - 89%
Okay: 70% - 79%
Weak: 60% - 69%
Poor: <60%
I can supply the Excel spreadsheet I have that documents my findings. Enjoy. _________________

That would be correct. If you take the formula I found, it also matches that.
IF its an FC, then M = 0
N for this solo is 3
B = 3 * (500 * (( 3 - 0 ) / ( 3 )) ^ 3)
B = 3 * (500 * (( 3 ) / ( 3 )) ^ 3)
B = 3 * (500 * (1) ^ 3)
B = 3 * 500
B = 1500
So yeah, it all matches. _________________

So for that 3 note solo, the chart goes as follows:
-0: 1500
-1: 444
-2: 56
-3: 0
Am I understanding the formula correctly?
Very easy programming this for my calculator, btw. :P
Code: | :clrHome
:Disp "Number of Notes Missed?"
:Input X
:Disp "Number of Notes Total?"
:Input Y
:Disp Y(500((Y-X)/(Y))^3) |

Yup, that all looks about right.
Shorter solos like still alive show HUGE drops in points for missing even a single note, relative to the FC score. A long solo like Alive, not so much. _________________
