I got the game on thursday, started drumming on medium. Now i have 5 starred almost all of the songs in medium, including some of the tougher ones (Rtth, tom sawyer, etc) and i decided earlier today it was time to move on to hard. Is it just me, or is the jump from medium to hard huge? Now there are double bass hits all over the place, strange rhythms on the bass pedal, and other bass related stuff.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to improve my bass technique? Specifically the double hits, i just can't seem to do them consistently at all. (I play heel up) |

I dunno. I sat and did medium ALL 5*s till I went to hard.
I dabbled on a few hard/expert songs fooling around and did em, but usually Id barely pass.
I dunno about the bass. Im playing heel down with the pedal ยบ45 to the right of me, detached and on its own (which I think is why my ankle hurts only at certain angles. even though I havent played in a week)
The bass is all in the head I guess. Once you know the songs better and start to feel the beats, the rest kinda flows out.
One day I was sloppy, next day I was nice n smooth 5* most of hard. even my wife said I looked like I had better rhythm and must be feeling it.
Then, for me at least, once you get a feel for the rhythms and count in your head, youll start to feel when changes take place, when a fill comes, etc.
ONE 2 3 4 ONE 2 3 4. Basses on 1's, etc. then you autopilot that stuff and just keep you eye open for changes. |
