i dunno if this is a repost.. but i just did this tonight..

so, as some of you might have noticed, after playing a lot on the rockband guitar, it gets harder and harder to strum. sometimes, you'll strum and nothing will happen, and then sooner or later, you'll have to strum really really hard or else nothing happens. fix it like this!

the problem is that there are two pairs of parallel plates on the top and bottom of the strumbar inside the guitar. when you strum down, for example, the parallel plates on top touch together. the way it works is that when u strum down, the strumbar pushes the bottom plate in the pair until it comes in contact with the upper plate in the pair. you can see the plates in this pic:

anyway, this gif shows what happens when u strum...:

so the reason it gets harder to strum is that when you strum extra hard.. the topmost plate get permanently pushed further up, so naturally, you have to push harder to make contact. to fix it... get a small piece of notecard paper.. fold it in half so that it's two layers..

and then put some tape on it..

and then.. jam it between the top most plate and the screw that's right on top of it...

screw back on the back cover.. and you should be set. before you put it back though, make sure that when you're not strumming, the parallel plates aren't touching, and when you do strum, the parallel plates touch. it should be a lot easier to strum if you do it right.

ghetto, but hey, it works =)
