(NOTE TO MODS/EVERYONE: I normally wouldn't post the same message in two different sections of the same forum, but this applies to hardware and software related to both Guitar Hero and Rock Band. So, this thread is just a placeholder for the other - do not post here. Please use the topic on the RB side of the forum for all support, comments, etc. I will bump this thread as necessary when updates occur.)

MIDI Hero is a program designed to let you use your Xbox 360 guitar controller (Strat, Xplorer, or Les Paul) as a MIDI controller. You can use this patch to control synthesized sounds within an application that uses MIDI, such as GarageBand, or through an external device (synthesizer, keyboard, drum machine, etc.) if you have a MIDI interface hooked up to your computer.

Features:
- Works with Mac OS X and Windows
- Works with Xbox 360 Strat, Xplorer, or Les Paul
- Integration with other MIDI applications (Anvil Studio, GarageBand, Fruity Loops, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Cakewalk Sonar, etc.)
- Integration with external MIDI devices (keyboards, drum machines, synthesizers, etc.)
- Two-and-a-half octave range with default binary button layout
- Custom fret configurations - 32 configurations maximum, switch between 4 custom and default binary with controller at any time
- Ability to save and load custom fret configurations
- Switch between single notes/power chords
- Whammy bar functions correctly (sends MIDI pitchbend info)
- Solo frets function correctly (normal frets can be no-strum toggled)

Version 0.5 has just been released.

Version 0.5, 5/6/08:
- You can now switch between single notes/power chords.
- All options and configurations are now controlled directly on the guitar.
- GUI re-arranged and cleaned up.
- I haven't tested the Windows side of things yet, so things might not work as intended.
- Documentation updated.
- Added some new screenshots.
