|
|
About a week ago I notices my pedal started to bend in an unusual way, so I take a look and the pedal cracked on both sides between the spring and the orange thing. I stopped playing so that it wouldn't make it worse.
I was going to try the Metal Mending Brace fix, but then I got an Idea, I could just use a piece of 1/4" Plexiglass I have laying around. Drilled a few holes, screw a couple of screws, and this is what I came up with:
The glass is very thin, and it feels almost no different then the regular pedal. It adds a little weight, which i think makes it easier to play, but that might just me not playing for a few days.
I'm also using the extra rubber bumper (well, rolled up electrical tape) to reinforce the area before the spring, so the pad doesn't bend when others play the game and push on the middle.
Heres on of it pushed down so you can see the flex.
I'll probably engrave a design into the plexiglass sometime, I'll post pictures if I do.
Enjoy.

I used a jigsaw I had laying around, but I'm sure just a regular hacksaw would do the job just as nicely, just with more elbow grease. |
