xorloser has made a program that allows to add/replace/files from all GH/RB versions, use it instead of this ( http://www.xorloser.com/ )

I saw yesterday that "xorloser" (THANK YOU!) posted a decrypter for the HDR and DTB files, that works for GH2-360 and Rock Band (PS2 and 360), and also he posted a tool to extract the contents of the HDR/ARK files but apparently it doesn't work with RB-PS2, plus that it's command line.

So I made one simple tool that works for PS2 and 360, with GUI, something that will be similar to ARK Expander.

Maybe I will even add support for GH1 and GH2 files some day, but not a priority since you have ARK expander to do it.

Programs required

Apache or any similar program
GH2Crypt
Rock Band - HDR extractor

Instructions

- Open Apache, and open your Rock Band ISO. Extract all files from the GEN folder. There's one MAIN.HDR and five MAIN_?.ARK files. Some ARK files are in the second layer, use the "Switch layer" option in Apache to extract them.
- Copy GH2Crypt.exe in the GEN folder with the archives.
- Open the extractor, select the GEN folder of your RB directory, and the directory where the files will be extracted.
- Click "Extract"
- Wait while it extracts...

Small FAQ

Q: Does this allow to do customs?
No, it doesn't. We don't still know the audio format, and this can't repack the files actually.

Q: I get "Can't open the HDR file! (Did you copy GH2Crypt.exe?)"
A: Check that you have GH2Crypt.exe in the GEN folder, that MAIN.HDR is in the GEN folder too, and that you have permission to read it.

Q: I get "Can't open one of the ARK files! (Did you extract all ARK files?)"
A: Make sure that you have copied the FIVE ARK files, including the ones in the 2nd layer, and that you have permission to read them.

Q: ANY problem
A: Check all basic things, like:

- You've copied all files
- You have enough disk space
- You have permission to read all files

Q: I have the DVD5 version, and I can't extract the files!
Just make 3 empty files called MAIN_2.ARK, MAIN_3.ARK and MAIN_4.ARK. That should work.

So can the decrypted DTB files be browsed with our GH2-PS2 tools?

you mentioned in the other forum, where Xorloser posted his tools, that you were going to write a re-packer as well. is it going to work with Rock Band 360?

No. I've tried opening them with a DTB editor and none of them worked. Also MILO_PS2 files don't work with MiloExplorer (invalid header). The bmp_ps2 and png_ps2 files work though.

I have the version with rebuilder done, and with a fix of a small bug. I should check that the rebuilding and those things are right before releasing anyway.

The MILO_PS2 files are a bit different, since they allow sub-containers (I've only seen them used in one MILO) and the thing that is probably making MiloExplorer to fail is probably that the version in the header is different.

The DTB decrypted format is the same, but the problem is that DTBEditor tries to decrypt the files with the GH1/GH2 algorithm and fails. I should contact Nachyoz, but apparently he hasn't posted in 8 months.

Version 0.2, with rebuilder (BETA), released.

It will also make backups for the HDR and the ARKs before rebuilding, restore them if it fails.

I've been able to change the songlist file with it (but not the songs >_>)

http://www.savefile.com/files/1435783

PD: I hope to release a new version soon, with additional checks so you will not have to worry too much about the backups >_>

i couldn't start it, i got configuration is wrong error.
its called RBPS2EXT so it probably doesn't work with 360.
if it doesn't could you possibly add support for it in the next version?

So that means another 16 less gigs on my harddrive? I have a laptop with 80 gigs of free space and without copying rockband to my harddrive I have 41 gigs left. And I like having about 35 gigs to use freely.

Anywho. AWESOME PROGRAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be anyone an internetz cookie that GameZelda will be the one to crack Rock Band (PS2)

Anyone else find it vaguely ironic that it was ages after we had songs in GH2 before we could edit the songlist, and now in RB we can edit the songlist long before the songs themselves?

What're the current odds of 360 vs. PS2, in terms of being cracked first? .MOGG vs. interleaved videos, yeah?
