Welcome to Technique, Style, and Gameplay, where you can ask technical questions about Rock Band and get answers from other players within the community! Despite ScoreHero's sometimes competitive nature, we also pride ourselves on helping each other out and pushing each other to get better while still maintaining a competitive edge. In this forum, you are free to ask a multitude of questions on a vast number of songs, and there can be multiple answers to any one question. This announcement is here to hopefully answer some of the questions you may ask. Now, before you start asking questions, I would like to point you to a few stickied topics that may help you find the answer to your question.

II: How to make a good topic

Here are some steps you should take to create a good topic. If you need help on a certain song or section of a song, be sure to include the section and difficulty in the subject title. For instance, if you need tips on the solo of Run to the Hills on Expert, you could say 'Help with Run to the Hills solo: Expert'. It is best to give as much information as possible in the topic to let the reader know what information you are seeking. In the topic itself, you may want to ask yourself what the source of the problem might be. Maybe you're strumming too fast, using the wrong fingering, not sticking correctly, singing too low, etc. Giving people possible theories of why you are having difficulty with the song may help them to give you the answer you are looking for. Answers can range in content from what fingering to use for certain parts, when to save SP, strumming method (whether to down-strum or alt-strum), strumming/fretting speed, mental blocks (is it faster or slower than you think?), among other things. To put it simply, give as much information as possible so that your question can be answered as best as it can be.

III: Rules to follow

Rule 1. Spell correctly. Use proper grammar. Don't post in all capital letters. It makes life easier. Take the extra 20-30 seconds to revise your post BEFORE you post, and people will often be more willing to answer your question.

Rule 2. Use the 'Search' function at the top, right-hand corner of the page. The question you are about to ask has no doubt been answered many times before, so it could be worth your while to browse other threads that already exist about the exact same topic. If you're lucky, you may even find some tips you didn't even think of asking!

Rule 3. You should NOT degrade users based on their skill level. Remember, everyone started out small. EVERYONE. Just because someone can't do something does not mean you have the right to make fun of them. Anyone who is caught degrading other users will be reprimanded.

Rule 4. Do NOT post one word responses, especially in this forum. In here, where technical and in-depth answers are preferred, it is a waste of time and space to post something without going into the reasoning why. Most of the questions here are not yes or no questions, and therefore require more carefully thought out posts. Please, if your post is going to be a one or two word response, don't bother posting.

Rule 5. Do NOT post anything besides technical questions about Rock Band! This forum is for technical talk about Rock Band, and nothing else. If it doesn't have to do with the technical aspects of Rock Band, it is probably better suited for Misc RB Game Discussion.

Rule 6: Here is a short list that points out some (but not all) of the topics that are not allowed here:
    - Anything that has to do with lag calibration.
    - Rumors/predictions/wish lists of future GH/RB releases, or any talk at all about future GH/RB releases.
    - ANYTHING about custom songs.
    - Lists like "Top 10 hardest RB songs?". We don't need them.
    - Glitches within the game engine. It's already been discussed countless times, no need for more threads.
    - Bragging about any personal accomplishments. Talk about it in Accomplishments, not here.

This sticky was created so that you may find the information you seek as quickly and smoothly as possible, and to keep clutter down to a minimum. We wish you good luck in your RB journey, and hope you enjoy your stay on ScoreHero!
