what is the stand on 360 customs at the moment?
i've been gone for a little while and see that PS2 customs are working.
but i don't feel like spending another $160 just play some custom songs.

so What is done? what isn't done?

i know that it accepts unencrypted .moggs and other unencrypted file types.

if they work what tools do i need?

Pretty much the same thing as PS2 from what I understand. However, you need a way to sign it as DLC, or never play online.

if you put it on a disk using arktool, you definitely don't have to sign it as dlc lol

all you need is arktool (google "xorloser"), and a way to make mogg's compatible with GH2-360. also knowledge of rock band's mid specs (see the numerous threads about ps2 customs as well as the sticky for a general background.) is needed if you want to make anything yourself.

Not sure if that was directly aimed at me.

Also, playing online will most likely get you banned from XBL. But if you've modded your 360, you probably already know this.

yeah i know i can be banned.
but actually just playing the modded Rock Band can get you Banned XBL or Not,
because of the CRC is messed up, your 360 will log this.
you can get flagged and later Banned.

EDIT:
could somebody link me to a thread or tell me the specs for creating the .moggs?

I will try it, I can open the moggs from the ark, listen to them. Editing them is next, I will get back to you.

you know how you can play customs on GH2-360? however you make the audio for that will work fine on rock band 360 (at least that's what xorloser, the maker of arktool said in a thread once)

I think that noone has currently rebuilt a MOGG header (correctly)

But I believe that the MOGG header before the OGG is just to keep the song synchronized (in case that the Xbox has problems with the lens, etc...), so we can replace it with a header with just an entry (like empty.mogg) that marks the start of the song.

I think that this should work
- Make a multi-track OGG file like the Rock Band OGGs (I think that there's a tutorial on SH about this).
- Generate (or just copy-paste from another file) an empty MOGG header.
- Import, save, burn, try.

The only talk that is forbidden here is decrypting RB-360 .mogg files. I believe we have established that unencrypted moggs work for "DLC", but not sure about disc hacking. Honestly, I wouldn't bother making a custom ISO for RB-360 - it's a much more elegant and open-ended solution to add customs as DLC.

(For all "how-to" questions, check the earlier threads in this forum.)

i think that's how they did the old moggs, they just found where the header ended and the music started and replaced the music.
in theory it should work, cause it has before.

i would try it right now, but i'd have to flash my sammy and dump RB cause i don't have a Kreon.
and that could take up to an hour, hour and a half.

umm, i don't think you understand the effort we'd have to put in to getting that DLC to boot.
cause as far as i know there are 2 ways, both of which need your 360 to have a bootable Kernel and have Linux.

1. Dump your Consoles individual Key and find a way to resign it onto the custom DLC
2. Modify your Kernel and disable the need for a Signature to be present on DLC

so yeah, mucho lots of work. but in the long run if you managed to do this it would be a lot faster and cheaper.

*sorry for the double post

Not trying to be a douche, but DLC is a bitch and a half to resign, this was said here. Downgrading your kernel would blow the E fuse on your 360's CPU so if you try that you are out a 360, forget being banned. I have extracted the songs from the ARK file, and can edit them in audacity. When I export them I can manually add the MOGG part. So in theory this should work, with a custom disc. I also read about modding a kernel to make it read unsigned DLC... Could someone lead me to this, I have not seen it anywhere on the internet before.
