--------------------NEW STUFF--------------------
I've updated the thread title to indicate that I think the site is now pretty much done! For those just joining us, just head straight to page 15 to join in the discussion.
rbdlc.com
--------------------OLD STUFF--------------------
So I've been working a side project for a while now, and I'm looking to get some feedback. Basically, I've put together a Rock Band downloadable content review site. It's one of those crazy "Web 2.0" things I keep hearing mentioned, but really all that means is that all the reviews are submitted by users.
I figure with the cost of songs and the couple of times that I've managed to pay for songs I ended up not liking, a site like this needed to be made. And since nobody else was doing it, I put my feeble fingers to the task.
So, I was hoping that perhaps some of you kind gentlemen might not mind looking it over and just playing around with it to make sure it's working properly. Particularly if you have any rendering bugs, let me know what they are and what browser you use.
In any case, again, nice to meet you all!

Looks pretty cool actually. If it's possible, maybe have a link in the name or another column that can have a video link for the songs. Not sure how the site works, but might be something worth looking into. If it's too much trouble, reviewers can just post a link themselves.
When you get more songs put in, I might go through and toss out some reviews myself _________________

My only problem is that my review of My Sharona Expert Guitar got posted twice for some reason I like the site and I'll def add more reviews!
My suggestion would actually to have the song titles as a drop down menu as opposed to a text box. That would eliminate the possibility of someone entering something wrong (which I could see causing a glitch in the way the music is sorted or organized). _________________

Actually, that is precisely my tomorrow project. I found this way of comparing text strings, so what I can do is when a user is entering the song title, it can have below, "Do you mean this song? 'My Sharona'" or something like that.
Also, you can edit your own reviews, but that seems to be a pain in the ass for everybody I've talked to, so I need to work on that.
And I was definitally wanting to link to Youtube videos. Working on that, but it's a LOT of grunt work to hunt them all down! |

Cool site idea, just wanted to add that I'd be willing to provide video's of all dlc (i'm going to be making them anyways, just waiting for a couple vga converters in the mail)
I own all current dlc so just let me know if you want some help with that. _________________

This isn't a bug but I think the Times New Roman font (or whatever it is) looks out of place with the layout you've made. That's just my preference though probably.
Either way, your site has intrigued me, I'll make some reviews now. |

Very cool idea! I agree that the song/artist when entering a review should be a dropdown box though. I don't really see a reason to have the user type it in manually, even if you go through the extra trouble of having a text matching feature to prevent duplicates. Why not just make it a dropdown and be done with it? _________________

This site actually looks really good... Maybe add did this review help you or something along those lines... or was this review helpful to you...
And for the reviewers for the rating system I think it would be cool to have it just like the Rock Band rating system... with like 1-5 Stars and 6 stars For Incredible...
and also anybody keep thing ADD(Attention Deficit Disorder) when they saw the ADD songs... maybe change the font or the lettering for that...
But a very promising site, I like it... _________________

Nice site, I went ahead and did a drum review for Date with the Night already. I'll post some more later on.
For the Easy - Expert selection, we're supposed to put how hard we feel this particular song is for that particular instrument? For DwtN I put it as a 'Hard' drum song, because it's not easy, but it's no perfect drug. Is that how you meant for that to be used?
Or did you set that up so that the Hard drum chart could be reviewed separately from the expert drum chart? _________________
