Hey guys, I don't know if anyone else saw this, but I was at www.earache.com , which is a record label, checking out some of their bands. One of the bands on the label happened to be Evile which is going to be in the thrash pack, and they had a banner on their site that said "Evile available in Rock Band for download March 18th". Go on the site and look, its in the Images window on the main page, it should show up about the third thing. So it looks like the Thrash pack will be coming out that week, though you never know. _________________

Thats pretty sweet. I will lean more toward not believing it after all these OXM shenanigans, but I would definitely be pleased if we only had to wait another week.
Also, still leaves room for our surprise this coming tuesday... _________________

The bands in the thrash pack have already been announced...
this was part of that full month calender of DLC that OXM published, which has subsequently been turned on it's ear by HMX.
Songs are:
Thrasher by Evile
Shadow World by Haunted
Blinded by Fear by At the Gates
So, theres no need for this to turn into an "I hope they give us Megadeth" thread... _________________

Nod I was looking forward to this and instead I get hit with 6 Grateful deads. Bah!
At least oxm had the groupings together properly if not the date.
Dates probably were correct but the man swapped the order around a bit to throw us off.
And again I think Metallica had them agree to no Megadeth if they wanted Metallica in the game.
Look at GH3, was supposed to have Washington is Next and they said they were in it and then One is announced and still no word from Megadeth... |

I'll bet the Thrash Pack is 100% ready to go, and is their backup if whatever they want to announce for 3/11 falls through.
It's got to be smoother to deal with hungry bands nobody's ever heard with than with big egos and slimy record execs who represent proven talent. |

I just don't understand how vocals are going to work. I've tried screaming into the Mic plenty of times and it doesn't register at all. And, honestly, trying to SING these tracks would be ridiculous... though, perhaps also the single funniest thing to ever happen in Rock Band.
Now that I mention it, if someone with a lovely voice could truly sing Shadow World and upload it, that would be amazing. |

im going to sit down now and scream some songs, and see what happens. I'm also planning to post a Screaming 101 guide if I can get it to work for the thrash pack, partly so people can do it with pitch a bit, and partly so poeple dont wreck their voices _________________

posting a screaming 101 in the vocals section now, video will be up very soon.
both a how to, then looking at how it registers. (using timmy)
It DOES seem to register screams as "talky" but you have to really do it just right. Once thrash pack comes out I'll try and do it and post videos then... but for now, there's that post as the start of my "research" on it _________________

Screaming = talky parts galore.
I haven't listened to the songs, but if I may bring out an old thrash metal stereotype, the singers with screamy vocals are usually have excellent clean voices as well, so even if the screaming is turned into talky parts, the vocals should be quite challenging. _________________

when i scream to songs it seems to work fine...maybe you scream wrong? (i dont mean that in a bad way....)
either way...i have always dream of actually having to scream the lyrics out. being the singer of a black metal band...this will definitly be fun |
