All three are tier 1 Expert Guitar songs. El Scorcho is the only one with a solo, but it's only a solo insofar as the fretboard turns blue and it tracks your percentage while you strum 17 easy notes.
I don't mean to bitch about DLC, and I'll continue to happily buy it all, but when new songs become available, my list of "wants" are, in order of desire:
- some degree of challenge in at least one of the songs
- songs I like
- songs that are fun
So this weeks DLC, out of a 10 point scale, gets:
-1 (nothing hard in any of them)
-5 (I *might* casually listen to both El Scorcho and STT, none of the three songs are terrible)
-3 (not bad the first time through, but little replayability for me after sightread FCs with easy-to-find paths) |

Yeah the songs aren't challenging in the least, but STP is one of my favorite bands so Sex Type Thing is a win for me. Oddly enough, the STP song is the easiest on drums and the Garbage one is the toughest. Still five-starred everything, gold on the guitar parts. (Let's get bands for DLC that haven't already appeared in some way or another on the game) _________________

As someone else who has all the DLC, and will continue to buy it, I agree with Sully that the complete lack of guitar difficulty is getting on my nerves. How about a few more songs that are at least hard to gold star, not necessarily even because of the chart itself, but just because of overdrive placement?
But despite being one of the easiest songs, El Scorcho is still one of my favorites in the game. What an awesome choice; and it's an interesting one to tinker with the various instrument levels. Sounds a lot like Pavement, which we desperately need.
That reminds me -- I thought Harmonix were all huge indie buffs... why aren't we seeing anything from that end of the musical spectrum? |

The Garbage song is kinda catchy, might pick that one up. But I still want an Interpol Pack! |

I liked them all. They're not challenging, but they sure are fun. _________________

Luckily we can look foward to guitar difficulty in the trash pack at the beginning of march. Well now that i think about it those songs will be difficult on all instruments. |

So...why did they mess with "El Scorcho"?
"Come on down the street and dance with me" sounds NOTHING like the real song. Neither does "read your diary"...might just be because the vocals are heightened?
"Ciao ciao san" doesn't sound right either. |

Guitar solo also sounds weird.
What the fuck is going on here? |

The outro chorus has also been completely fucked with on "El Scorcho" as well.

*GASP!* Goddamn appears in El Scorcho! Angry parents shall soon sue over hearing their little Billy singing Weezer!
OH TEH NOES!
(Hehe, it's really not THAT big of a deal.) |

Correct me if I'm mistaken (since I've not played ALL of the DLCs for RB) But it seems as if all of the DLC songs for RockBand do *NOT* have "big endings" like some of the stock songs that came with RB. Am I right?
Also, how are you folks recording your playing onto your PCs?
And I want to ask folks who play guitar/bass if you use the Rock Band Stratocaster, or your old Guitar Hero guitar? |
