Well I had no plans for current DLC.
But I plan to get the thrash pack and I can take a peak at that song list too.
I find it amusing when I found out how to open t hese files, the song lists only ever had the songs in the pack.
Then the ones that have extra info are the ones I didnt DL. hustle ahoy.
i still think that editing the OXM pack is the key to customs.
Also I would assume you can shove more than 3 in a pack. |

Nah, just lists the 3 NIN songs.
(marchofthepigs
(name "March Of The Pigs")
(artist "Nine Inch Nails")
(master TRUE)
(context 136)
(rank
(drum 400)
(guitar 285)
(bass 320)
(vocals 240)
(band 350)
(collector
(name "The Collector")
(artist "Nine Inch Nails")
(master TRUE)
(context 137)
(rank
(drum 280)
(guitar 180)
(bass 080)
(vocals 210)
(band 230)
(perfectdrug
(name "The Perfect Drug")
(artist "Nine Inch Nails")
(master TRUE)
(context 134)
(rank
(drum 500)
(guitar 290)
(bass 140)
(vocals 175)
(band 390)
According to this perfect drug drum ranks same as Blackened. |

...But those are interesting. I'm curious what "context" means, and how the ranks work internally, i.e.: what correlates to what and what the limits are. |

Ok I checked the spa.bin, nothing new.
Although interesting is (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction is in the section of on disc songs, not in the DLC area. |

(name "xxx") name of song
(artist "xxx") artist of song
(master TRUE) is it a master (TRUE) or a cover (FALSE)
(context 136) is probably just used to match stuff together. So this songs stuff is assigned the number 136. The game doesn't seperate the songs by the name, it uses this number. When you want to play "March of the Pigs", the games internally sees it as you wanting to play 136. The limits would probably be 2 bytes (65535). They shouldn't really relate to anything else.
(drum 400) drum difficulty
(guitar 285) guitar difficulty
(bass 320) bass difficulty
(vocals 240) vocal difficulty
(band 350) full band difficulty
There appears to be two lists of songs, but it just looks that way in the file. There is no real reason they are seperated. None of the songs even have to be together. |

Suppose that makes sense. Though now I wonder where genre and decade info is stored. |

The same file he first checked, "songs.dta". He just didn't copy that part. It contains all the info about the song. How many tracks there are in the mogg (add the tracks up? though they could leave the extra blank), what track numbers are what instrument. The track volumes and pannings. The scroll speed. The preview section of the mogg. And a few other things.
Most of the above are just guesses, but I'm fairly certain about them. |

Here's a link to the confirmation of the portal song. |
As soon as I can get my hands on that song, I will personally be writing Harmonix a thank you letter. _________________
