Die-hards familiar with the bands 2013 classic, Madelyn, will be interested to discover that songs narrative continues nine years later with Oldest Daughter although, like its predecessor, the lyrical content is relatively bleak (runaway daughter/sister with certain issues and vices whos likely to have an unpleasant end). This is no maudlin sob-fest, though far from it. While lead singer Dan Soupy Campbells lyrics and passionate, pleading delivery may give you all the feels, layers of heavy guitars and bass coupled with huge, arena-ready drumming will have you raising your fists and singing along (when youre not wiping the tears from your eyes). Massive riffage and full-tilt energy throughout, Oldest Daughter is truly a gem and fun to play!
