California rockers Dance Gavin Dance released new music earlier this year and took the charts by storm. Prisoner, the leading single off of their ninth studio album, Afterburner, got a lot of praise from critics and fans alike. The group characterizes Afterburner as musical progression, with a lot of experimental and genre-bending sounds incorporated. This experimental sound is not lost on Prisoner, which incorporates some funky and progressive roots. The song is about some mind-bending substances and offers up some religious concepts.
