When I try to access the music store through the Rock Band 2 disc for Wii, I see the error message "Unable to connect to the Music Store server at this time. Please try again later." Has support for DLC for the Wii been terminated? |

The Wii's online in general was terminated earlier this year. So it looks like you're outta luck. _________________

Really? I was aware that online multiplayer went defunct in May, but I was under the impression that purchaseable consumables were unaffected. (I know that the Wii Shop Channel is still active, so you can still buy most Virtual Console games.) Granted, this page does acknowledge that "Free add-on content or downloads (new levels, in-game items, Mystery Gifts)" were discontinued, but it doesn't say anything about paid add-on content.
If that is the case, I'm surprised that I didn't see anything about the termination at the RE-LICENSING INFO - UPDATED QUARTERLY topic at Harmonix's forum. I submitted a ticket at Harmonix's support site early this morning, but I have not gotten a reply yet. |

You can still buy songs for RB2 using the RB3 store. In fact, RB3 online is still 100% up and running on the Wii version. The other RB games onlines were discontinued (Note: I don't actually know this for sure, but it seems likely.), along with the ability to buy or redownload songs you've already purchased, presumably because the stores are in-game. |

That guy is never coming back is he, so I guess congratulations to midnight-rider for the successful proliferation of misinformation. I guess I wanted to add about buying songs for RB2 in RB3, I may or may not have had a problem with actually playing the song in RB2, even though it showed up in-game, it might not have let me play it. So just you might want to confirm the songs actually work if you go and borrow some other guy's RB3 disk to download songs, or something. |

It looks like the Wii store (which RB2 launches when you try to buy something) is gone, but since RB3 has it's own store GUI, it still works. Thats pretty nifty, cause I thought it was totally going away too. _________________

Just in case it wasn't clear, you can still play online, leaderboards, all of it, on Wii RB3. |
