NOTE: This idea is from SpoonMan. All credits for the poll style/idea goes to him.
For anyone wondering whether this is considered a "poll thread" and thus against the rules: The mods have discussed it and ruled that as long as there is discussion of why a song is chosen as harder/easier, then there is no problem. I would ask all of you to try to add some reasoning to all of your votes going forward if possible.
This is a project that will ultimately create a complete Expert Master FC Breakdown for every game in the RB series combined. There are more than 350 songs, and making a single huge list from scratch that anyone can agree on would simply be impossible. This way it is broken down into smaller sections and can be the most "accurate" possible. It's completely based on the opinion of participants of this thread. I did not make any of the rankings based solely on personal opinion.
This game will probably be a little tougher to rank because a lot of the songs are similar. That being said, please don't take it as a joke, because this ranking is important when it comes to building the final list.
Phase 3: The final list!

I'll probably have to take some time to replay these (and I assume others will as well). So I'd say maybe expect a response within a few days, not right away. |

I was going to take a few days myself, I'm planning on leaving this phase up for 5-7 days. _________________

Is LRB's going to go up soon, or are you going to wait for this one to get to the actual breakdown? _________________

I'll put it up soon, sorry. It'll go up tonight or early tomorrow. _________________

Group A:
Before the Lobotomy
American Eulogy
Boulevard of Broken Dreams
American Idiot
Basket Case
21st Century Breakdown
Are We the Waiting/St. Jimmy
Boulevard of Broken Dreams has the solo, it's not hard but there's nothing really like it it the game as most of the other songs are just chords, I know when I did a breakdown lots of people said it was tough. Before the Lobotomy wasn't very hard iirc and American Eulogy was longer with chords at the end. American Idiot has the chords in the main riff and Basket Case has a fast tempo overall and isn't easy.
Group B:
Extraordinary Girl
Coming Clean
Emenius Sleepus
Burnout
Chump
Brain Stew/Jaded
Chump took me way more time to fc on gd:rb but in terms of actual charts Jaded is harder.
Group C:
Geek Stink Breath
F.O.D.
Give Me Novocaine/She's A Rebel
Having a Blast
Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)
Hitchin' a Ride
Geek Stink is short and the hard part in the little intro thing which can be learned. FOD has chords and some faster bpm stuff at the end. I remember she's a rebel being annoying and it's long. Having a blast has fast tempo and gallops/places you need to be a solid at down strumming or control of alt strumming to fc
Group D:
Last Night on Earth
Holiday
Horseshoes and Hand grenades
In the End
Jesus of Suburbia
Homecoming
This one was pretty easy.
Group E:
Longview
Minority
Murder City
Nice Guys Finish Last
Peacemaker
Letterbomb
Peacemaker is just alt strumming rbo and gyb chords and being able to hit a g/r when you transition to the other chord, Letterbomb has chord changes with gallops at a faster bpm and it's harder overall imo
Group F:
Pulling Teeth
See the Light
Sassafras Roots
She
The Static Age
Restless Heart Syndrome
See the light doesn't really have any thing hard at all and Sassafras is at higher bpm. Static age has a solo that's hard by this games standard 3rd hardest in the game maybe?), She is quick but it's short and Restless is easy bar the solo and imo they are close
Group G:
Warning
Wake Me Up When September Ends
Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl)
Whatsername
When I Come Around
Welcome to Paradise
Warning has nothing hard in it, Wake me is the same way with more patterns and longer, Viva has the little swing things (which aren't hard but this group has lots of easy songs) Whatsername has a few chords parts and a slide with some movement (these 4 are all really close) and the main riff in When I come Around makes it harder than the first 4 in this group) |

I'm detailing the hardest parts of everything, mostly as notes for myself.
Group A:
Boulevard of Broken Dreams (3 note chord changes, solos w/ 16th HOPOs)
Before the Lobotomy (Walking melody in the beginning, couple strumming bits, weird sustainy chord changes, end HOPOs)
Basket Case (Gallops, everything is off-beat, fast)
American Eulogy (Fast walking part. Longer than average for this game's fast songs)
American Idiot (Iconic riff's chord changes are really dumb. Solo is easy)
21st Century Breakdown (Fast chord changes for the whole 2nd half)
Are We the Waiting/St. Jimmy (See above comment, but harder)
Group B:
Extraordinary Girl (Some gallops I guess?)
Coming Clean (Has some notes, unlike above. On the other hand, is 12 seconds long)
Emenius Sleepus (About 13 seconds long, which makes is one second harder than Coming Clean, also faster)
Burnout (Somewhere between the extremes this group has
Brain Stew/Jaded (Everyone knows it's hard, I think)
Chump (Those gallops are really hard and last way too long for their own good, hardest section/song in the game?)
Group C:
F.O.D. (Everything the rest of the group is but slower)
Geek Stink Breath (chord HOPO awkward chord change chord HOPO awkward chord change gallop repeat)
Having a Blast (fast gallops)
Give Me Novocaine/She's A Rebel (gallop gallop gallop tricky strumming gallop gallop gallop)
Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) (There should've been HOPOs everywhere imo)
Hitchin' a Ride (OH GOD THE TRIPLETS)
Group D:
Last Night on Earth
Holiday
Horseshoes and Handgrenades
In the End
Homecoming
Jesus of Suburbia
Everyone agrees this group was easy. We'll argue the 2 long songs later I bet. I SRFCed Homecoming and JoS took me a while, but whatever if that is switched.
Group E:
Minority
Nice Guys Finish Last
Longview
Murder City
Peacemaker
Letterbomb
If this was entirely up to me, Longview is the hardest song in this group, it took me 3 hours of attempts to FC when I was going for the FGFC and Murder City and Letterbomb were the only other 2 songs I missed in from this group. The triplet strumming before the choruses is STUPID. With a capital 's' and a capital 'tupid'. I know the only argument in this group is going to be Peacemaker v Letterbomb, and Letterbomb is clearly the harder of these 2 songs to me, but I think Longview is way underrated.
Group F:
Pulling Teeth
Sassafras Roots
See the Light
The Static Age
She
Restless Heart Syndrome
Might have been easier to rank than D.
Group G:
Wake Me Up When September Ends
Warning
Whatsername
Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl)
When I Come Around
Welcome to Paradise
Group of 2 pairs. September is easier because it's so slow, while at least Warning has some pace for difficulty, and Viva actually has a couple offbeat interesting notes between weird chord changes. Top 2 are easy. _________________

Okay I played through all of the songs. Now to do L:RB. That might be a bit more fun. Although I was reminded that I like a lot of Green Day's stuff, so that's good.
Group A:
Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Before the Lobotomy
American Idiot
American Eulogy
Basket Case
21st Century Breakdown
Are We the Waiting/St. Jimmy
(Am I the only one that thinks Basket Case is legitimately tricky? Way harder than anything but the two epics in this set)
Group B:
Extraordinary Girl
Coming Clean
Emenius Sleepus
Burnout
Chump
Brain Stew/Jaded
(Jaded is just so random. At least the outro of Chump is practicable)
Group C:
F.O.D.
Geek Stink Breath
Give Me Novacaine/She's A Rebel
Having a Blast
Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)
Hitchin' a Ride
(A lot of these are really really similar. Honestly, for me, the first three are basically interchangeable.)
Group D:
Last Night on Earth
Holiday
Horseshoes and Handgrenades
In the End
Homecoming
Jesus of Suburbia
(Jesus of Suburbia has all of what makes Homecoming hard, but with even wider variety of techniques needed)
Group E:
Longview
Minority
Murder City
Nice Guys Finish Last
Peacemaker
Letterbomb
(Letterbomb is not that different from Peacemaker, but it has more gallops and weirdness)
Group F:
See the Light
Pulling Teeth
Sassafras Roots
She
The Static Age
Restless Heart Syndrome
(Pulling Teeths solo isnt hard, but its harder than anything in See the Light)
Group G:
Warning
Whatsername
Wake Me Up When September Ends
Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl)
When I Come Around
Welcome to Paradise
(Wake Me Up is like a more varied, slightly trickier Whatsername. But I agree with others, the first four here could be reasonably switched around depending on personal skillsets and preferences) |

Are we, we are the waiting, after all.
...Anyway, I haven't played this game enough to make a list, but I can participate in the song votes. _________________

OK, let's go, I guess.
Q1: Which is easier to FC, American Idiot or American Eulogy?
Q2: Which is easier to FC, F.O.D. or Geek Stink Breath?
My votes are for American Eulogy and FOD. _________________
