Thanks,
Not currently taking requests as it takes me quite a while to get through them. As I get faster at it I may in the future.

I can tell you what I'm currently working on:

"Shooting Star" by Bad Company
and
"Dead and Bloated" by STP

Very cool, it's nice to get some more STP. I appreciate all of the people putting in the time to make these upgrades. I would try to help myself, but I don't have the guitar skills.

The likely problem with that upgrade is the 17 fret guitar track has a lot of notes that go above the track's limit and use fret 22. On another note, the pro guitar track has almost 1200 left hand positions, which while probably won't cause a crash, is overkill and could just slow the game engine down. I'm assuming this was made with Ziggy's editor, but the fret hand position creation could use some tweaks. The position doesn't need to be set to the position already in effect, a position of 0 never has to be set for open notes, and a position doesn't need to be set if a note is no more than 3 frets or so higher than the position in effect.

EOF was able to bring the number of position changes needed for the guitar track down to 186, and for the bass track from over 1200 down to just 33. Ziggy's welcome to use EOF's program logic for this task if he likes.

Yep, same for me, It was working when i only had the guitar part charted, i could play through the whole thing without it freezing. I just added the bass part over the weekend and am now seeing the freezing as well.

Raynebc - did you create an adjusted version that is working without crashing? If so could you post it or send it to me so I can update the link?
I am using the ziggy editor, if anyone has any ideas on what to possibly tweak to get this to work I'm open to suggestions.

I have single string and multi-string tremolos set in the editor that aren't showing up in game so I'm just going to remove them altogether and see if that makes any difference

Also, I'm not sure what to do about the 17th fret issue on the mustang. Is there some secret to keeping the full chart for the Squier and having a reduced chart for mustang that I don't know about?

thanks for the help!

I'm surprised those fret 22 notes in the guitar track didn't cause any crashing, that would be one of the more obvious problems with the chart. Here's an altered version of your MIDI:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/y9f8bq

I didn't actually try to play it, but I cleaned up the fret hand positions and fixed the fret limit issues just by lowering parts of the solos that used those high notes by 12 frets. There's a fret 10 note at 4:55.515 that has offending high notes close to either side, so that was broken and converted to an open note during my cheap fix, it will need to have some more thought put into it (ie. lower it an octave by moving it to another string). I don't recall seeing any other notes that lose the correct pitch from this fix, but you may need to check them. Transposing notes to another string or octave is how Harmonix generally made Mustang versions of pro guitar/bass tracks when necessary.

I don't remember if RB3 uses tremolo chords, do they get used in any official songs?

Thanks, raynebc, i'll try to do some work with the version you sent tonight and see if i can get it working

In the mean time here is version 3 with the tremolos removed:

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5XtxZzOPHcuVE9SYVlKWnZ3aEU/edit?usp=sharing

I have played official charts that have them (Jimi Hendrix, all along the watchtower has some in the solos).

Let me know if anyone tries version 3 and it works (also cleaned up some stuff)

thanks
