I'm looking to buy a new kit, but haven't kept up with Rock Band much since 2 came out. My question is, what's the most reliable drum kit (disregarding the ION)? By reliable, I mean lowest deficiency rate, sturdiest against beatings, etc. I will do light modding (penny, sock, etc.) if the set requires it. Specific models (EL, QM, SL) taken into account as well. _________________

I've used my own electronic kit since RB2, but I'm going to hazard a guess that the most reliable official kit would be the most recently produced one. I believe this is basically an improved version of the RB2 kit that came with all three cymbal expansions that was released and marketed for RB3 when it came out. I don't know how hard this is to find these days however. _________________

The RB3 drum kit is somewhat mediocre in quality. I got an Ion kit recently and from my experience so far, it's worth the cost, especially if you can't find the Mad Catz kit at list price for your console. |
