"Deep Purple Single"
Holy shit, we're getting Burn!?
*enters topic*
Meh... >_> | Same for me except I was hoping for Fireball/Woman from Tokyo | I would have been happier with either of those than Child in Time... hell, Hush would have been awesome too.
Dammit HMX, stop taunting us with these Deep Purple singles D: _________________

woooooo Dance, Dance on a good drum engine YAY. I'll definitely be picking that up and considering Sugar, We're Goin' Down; won't be getting Thnks fr th Mmrs, though - everything Infinity On High-onward is a no-way from me. That said, I'm going to echo sentiments of others here and ask if we can get some Take This To Your Grave, because that is seriously an incredible album and there are some songs on it that would be great fun in RB.
As for Child in Time ... eh. I'll wait on videos, because I (a) don't know the song (b) am wary of songs that long and (c) ...okay I don't have a (c). But the first two, anyway. _________________

Just saw the news, and I'm using my first post in months to tell all your candy asses to go out and buy "Child in Time," even if you're the slightest bit apprehensive. It's that epic. _________________

Allow me to be the first to say: what the fuck is up with the guitar chart for Dance, Dance?
Seriously. I'm not known for being great at sightreading, or plastic guitars in general, but a 3-star sightread on a chart that's less than devil tier is not normal. I tried a couple of other songs, even the bass chart of the same song, to make sure it wasn't down to the guitar or calibration and had no such trouble... _________________

They cut. The outro. Of Child in Time. What the fuck? They could at least BRE it (There is a BRE by the way, just that the note after the BRE is the start of the second wave of lol, which was skipped entirely.)
Still buying it though.
For anyone who wondered, tiers are:
Child in Time:
G: 7
D:7
K:7
B:5
V:4

God I hate Harmonix' new way of charting everything. Seriously Child of Time's solo could have been the funnest thing ever and they hyper-accurately charted it. I know that they do that a lot nowadays but seriously why? Its not fun. _________________

Opinions, opinions. I personally like the way the solo is charted. |

Solo starts around the 4:00 mark:

I personally think it looks unnecessarily hard. I'm glad that HMX didn't start charting like this until recently, or else some of my favorite songs would have looked like donkey shit instead of being as awesome as they are.

I've started to realize that when most people (not necessarily you, JWitjeS) say this sort of comment, they actually mean "I am such a big fan of this song and/or band that I refuse to not like the chart." _________________

Thanks For the Memories ends on a Unison Bonus on Pro Keys. Needless to say, in solo play, this just seems like a little bit of a dick move. Fun chart though, the trill sections are a blast.

Well, I'm perfectly capable to seperate the quality of the song and the quality of the chart. True, I've wanted Child in Time in a music game ever since I first bought Guitar Hero 2 and it's my favorite Deep Purple song, but there have been instances before where a song simply wasn't any fun for me, although I absolutely love the song itself (most recent example: Fell on Black Days).
But yeah, I genuinely like these types of charts. There are some little sections in the solo that I don't agree with (the quick single notes to chords to single notes parts), but apart from that I genuinely like playing the song on guitar. |

Not straight 16th notes? Must be overcharted.
Playing through it, the only issue I had with the solo is how endless the hopos are in spots that I felt should've have strums in them at SOME point. Also it's called Guitar Solo 1 despite there being no Guitar Solo 2.
Also I love the condescending tone to people who actually like the chart. "Oh you like the chart? Probably just because you like the song, that's how it USUALLY goes." _________________

Chart doesn't seem too bad, though there are definitely a few WTF sections. |
