Why y'all gotta hate on Bruno Mars because he's Mainstream/Pop/Not Hard (Playing wise)/ or isn't part of YOUR favorite genre,? That's some stupid hater ass shit, you don't like it deal with suck that shit up. As a company HMX is gonna keep going distances with different genres and big radio hits, if it gets played on the radio every hour that must mean people out there are liking it you ignorant fucks. Maybe y'all should stop acting so delicate bout a few fucking songs and enjoy the other 1500+ songs that are available. smmfh -_- |
http://www.hulu.com/watch/62945/before-the-music-dies
That's why. |
As long as you can realize the difference should it matter. People are greedy so you can't do nothing bout it. Yeah it's fucked up but hey that's how it works I don't really know how rock mainstream goes I really don't listen to it outside of Rock Band. Now rap yeah I know how that work Companies i.e. Def Jam will not let their artist have any creative control what so ever look at Lupe or Frank Ocean. Now the with Rap rappers do have options to release mixtapes in order to say and do what they want with their music for everyone to hear.
Back on topic you can hate him just because of how talent is lacking of newer artist. I don't like Justin Beiber but the ol dude do know how to sing and yeah can play the drums. And the same could be applied to Bruno Mars he does know how to sing and play instruments. Age shouldn't have to mean anything about how relatable or inspiring one's music is shit I know a 15 year old girl who has been to hell and back and has been through tougher shit then most grown niggas. She writes music but does that mean she don't know what she's doing or talking because she 15. what about a young rapper that 22 or younger do they not say whats real or relatable because they're young? Age don't mean shit there are young people with fuck up lives.
I felt that documentary was a bit biased but did make good points. |
I don't think he necessarily lacks talent (I've never seen Bruno Mars live, or have seen any live clips of him performing, so I can't judge for certain), but it all just sounds like a bunch of generic bubblegum crap to me. Some of the other songs on his albums might be better, but I don't know, because I'm so sick of his radio-friendly stuff. Same goes for Justin Bieber, except for the fact he just sounds absolutely terrible in addition to the completely generic music he puts out. And speaking of Bieber, age has literally nothing to do with anything I was saying at any point in this thread. Just to throw an example out there, look at Black Tide: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Tide
They're not my favorite band by any stretch, but they're young and pretty good. Furthermore, I would greatly appreciate it if you didn't set English back into the Stone Age in every sentence, especially since the stuff you are saying sounds like you are agreeing with me even though you most likely have a completely different opinion. _________________

For someone who doesn't give a fuck about the audience for Bruno Mars DLC... he sure cares a hell of a lot about this thread! _________________

Yeah but he can't do either well at all.
Anyway, on point, not a fan of anything this week but maybe there will be a hidden gem in the Rise Against tracks. _________________

I fel like an idiot, I have heard of Bruno Mars before. He was the guy siniging that song with the monekey's in the video. Damn it, why couldnt that have been in the pack. Maybe ill give them another listen.
Oh and guys mainstream music is always like this with people who live through it claiming it's the worst ever. I grew up in the bubblegum boy band era when thats all that was ever on and hated it bad, but now a day I can listen to some of it and like it. JT is actually really good. Oh and J Beibs does have talent, I think he's pretty good.
Anyways must go back and listen to these Bruno Mars songs again!! _________________

I'm not sure what's more sad: The fact that I've made this many posts in this thread, or the fact that you digged through every page just to make a point. Also, the fact that I started a page is irrelevant. I just happened to be up at 8:50 Central time and thought, "Hmm...it would be fun to be the guy who posts the announcement for once." otherwise, the only way starting a page would be even remotely relevant is if I posted something like "Snypah" on the top. THAT is postwhoring. Speaking of...

It's a conversation, not a church service. Besides, I don't know how you could call it postwhoring considering that I average a grand total of 3.74 posts per day on the entire website. _________________

Ugh. I can't believe I actually watched through this pretentious drivel. I really want to go into my opinion on this documentary, but that's getting way too off-topic... _________________

I will say that it is somewhat pretentious and quite biased, but it's far better than the documentary I watched in my "Intro to Communication" class about how rap videos are nothing more than commercial portrayals of the male pornographic imagination. I don't think this one is it, but it's similar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8YpcN7oKIM _________________

I'm sure skimming 8 pages for a Packers avatar is equivalent to making 15 posts about how I don't like Bruno Mars. Clearly, I'm the sad one here. But please, continue to post because I'm just so incredibly interested in what you think about this week's DLC. Surely you haven't said all you need to say by now! Maybe by 20 posts you will! _________________

Yeah what i thought as well. I listened to "Grenade" and i dont see why it would sell tons of copies, seems boring to me and I think today's pop music is alright (better then the boy band stuff i grew up with, lol) |
I'd take N*SYNC and Backstreet Boys over Justin Beiber and Miley Cyrus any day. _________________
