Well, I have to say Jenny surprised me. I knew it would be a fantastic party song (because everyone knows it), but I didn't expect it to be great to play. It plays very much like a song from the Boston pack: Mostly easy, but varied parts with the fun-factor pretty evenly distributed across all instruments. Definitely a worthwhile song to pick up.
Also got the Ohio Players songs and Blood and Thunder. Fire has a ton of variety compared to most funk songs, and a bitchin' percussion solo. Love Rollercoaster is far more repetitive and less fun on guitar, but I prefer the song itself. It's also final tier keys, but probably tends towards the easier end of that tier (not that it's easy in any way). Overall Fire looks like one of the better full-band songs to be released in a while. Every instrument is worthwhile to play.
Blood and Thunder is fantastic. I really like the charts. They're mostly similar to the GHM charts, but little differences make it more enjoyable. Also, that lead guitar line in the guitar break is all hopos. It has to be one of the longest continuous hopo chains in the game. I never minded them being strummed in GHM, but it is damn fun as hopos and I'm sure a lot of people will be happy. Drums are obviously fantastic. Yeah, it's missing Expert+, but there isn't that much use of double kick in the song to begin with, so compared to a lot of metal songs it's no big loss. Vocals are pitched during a lot of it, which I guess is legitimate. Personally it could go either way. He's definitely singing harshly, but he tries to keep vaguely to a melody in the verses (the choruses are all talkies).
Didn't buy either the Anberlin or the Relient K songs. Never been a gigantic fan of either band, but judging by preview vids both look alright to play for lower tier stuff, so if you like the bands you can't really go wrong with picking either one up. Even though I'm not a huge fan of theirs, I know Relient K has been a big request for a while so it's always nice to see a heavily requested band show up. |

Blood and Thunder is easily the best HMX DLC I've bought in a loooooong time.

Although not the WTF everyone was expecting, I'm glad you only charted the "right hand" for the keys solo in Chameleon Carneval. It seriously would never happen otherwise.
Also Veil of Illumination Pt2 Keys Solo lasts aaaaaaaages. Can't wait to see someone pass it. _________________
