Hey wow, exactly 1 year after niq made a Pax East post last year.
Okay, here's a thread for anyone going to PAX East this year in Boston, March 11-13, 2011.
Schedule is here http://east.paxsite.com/schedule.php
HMX-Related events roundup from RockBandAide: http://www.rockbandaide.com/11062/pax-east-2011-harmonix-appearances/
The major RB-related activities incude
A Reverse Q&A with the Harmonix Community Team
Manticore Theatre
Saturday, 11:00am - 12:00pm
Public Play: The Secret to Making Games that Are Social, Embarrassing, and Fun!
Naga Theatre
Sunday, 11:00am - 12:00pm
And there are a few other panels that will feature HMX people, but aren't directly about RB or anything. Also presumably (hopefully) HMX will have their own "lounge" area again with a RB stage.
No official tournament on the schedule, but if there is something, we can use this thread to figure out who's going and get bands together. _________________

This just so happens to fall over my spring break, so I should be in attendance. Yay! You'll have to tell me what it's like Brian, I've got no idea what to expect.
Also, what does "reverse" Q&A mean? Lol _________________

I'm definitely going to be there.
Dunno anything about a RB tournament. Was the one last year official? I remember it being on the side, so maybe the same thing will happen this year? |

Updated the OP with a link to RockBandAide's post that just came out http://www.rockbandaide.com/11062/pax-east-2011-harmonix-appearances/
3-day passes are almost gone (or maybe are gone?) so TJ, go buy now! $55 for the full weekend
Last year's event was semi-official, it was enforcers running it but it was never listed on the tournaments schedule (since it was sort of ongoing for 3 days). This year who knows, because apparently PAX Prime didn't even have a semi-official tourney? _________________

Yeah, that's mentioned in the RBA article. It's at the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge, which is actually sorta far from the convention center.
7pm - Heavy Metal
10pm - Rock Band
$14 for both, or $6 just for RB.
Also, super lols for MrPope's description of Heavy Metal

Fuck yeah Heavy Metal.
For those who are unaware, that's the movie that was parodied in the "cheesing" episode of South Park. _________________

Are there any 1-day passes? I'm leaving on Sunday so won't be going then, I'll probably just go either Friday OR Saturday. _________________

$35 for a one-day pass, same for each day.
As of right now, they've said 3-day passes are sold out, and 1-day saturday is sold out. _________________

Just got my pass in the mail. It says that PAX is on Daylight Savings Weekend. Uh... what? I've never heard of this. Does that mean we have to spring ahead early for PAX? _________________

You've never heard of Daylight Savings Weekend?
It means that you need to set your clock 1 hour earlier for Sunday if you don't wanna oversleep. Sucks. _________________

Oh I get it now. It's just the weekend the one hour shift occurs on. I thought it meant that PAX was running on a different time than other places in the same time zone and I was very confused.

Saturday Night in the Jamspace....
Brentalfloss
Armcannon
Powerglove
If you went to either GU Fest or GameUniCon you know brentalfloss and Powerglove own so much!
Armcannon is one of my favorite Video Game Bands too!
Finally a Powerglove show where I am not in charge of anything and can just ROCK THE HELL OUT!
Who's going to see these bands? I can't wait to just go and HAVE FUN!
Game Underground also has a booth at the event and we are part of the Friday Night Party that Tobias posted about above at the Market!
