Really... Sometimes I would really enjoy reading and discussing what other people would want. We have a thread to share ideas, but it's just too fuckin' big!
One thread just isn't enough room to discuss possibly endless amounts of artists and new gameplay ideas. You make one well thought out post and it will be overlooked because there will be a wave of random "I want this artist" and "I want that artist" threads. So much so that while it would be nice to browse ideas, it's too much of a pain in the ass to have an organized discussion about them.
A sub-forum for it would work very well, I think. All you would need is to urge members to use the search button for any possible threads related to their suggestion.. And ask that members try to put a little reasoning in their created threads, rather than just "we need Modest Mouse DLC" (which we do) and nothing else.
I dunno if sharing ideas here catches much attention of the HMX staff... But if you're going to address user wishes, you might as well do it well. _________________

Hm, do people just not really care? Or would this just be best on the "GH side"? (seems a bit more active there when it comes to SH discussion) _________________

My understanding of the wishlist thread is that it's supposed to be a spam magnet. It exists so that any time someone makes a thread saying "We need <Band> in <Game>", the mods can lock it and link to the wishlist thread.
It seems to me the reason those threads are not allowed is because there's only three responses possible:
1) <Band> is the best!
2) <Band> sucks!
3) <Band> is awesome, and we need <Song> by them!
Not a whole lot of discussion possible there. I suppose there's some discussion to be had about new features (like optionally enabling the notes in a BRE or something), but ¯\(°_o)/¯.
If your purpose is making it convenient for HMX to see what songs players want, they've got that covered over here.
That doesn't have feature suggestion, of course.
I think most people don't care about making requests. It doesn't seem like HMX is super-attuned to what users want. The request thread is very low signal-to-noise, but that's by design, and to protect the signal in the rest of the fora. _________________

Took me longer than it should have to respond to this.. But anyway..
There are more than three responses to the example you provided. There is a lot of potential discussion value surrounding suggested artists. You could discuss specific songs/sections in terms of how they'd be charted, their difficulty, fun factor, and so on.
Sure, shallow posts will pop up with "yeah, they're good" and "no, they suck".. But Scorehero isn't terrible with that sort of jazz, so I don't think these type of responses would rule the thread.
And mods could still lock a thread when it pops up in Misc. Discussion. Just instead of "post in this thread" it would be "moved to this forum" or "locked because this thread exists in this forum" _________________
