I JUST FC'D WELL THOUGHT OUT TWINKLES! It's incredible what a lack of a strum limit can do for a game. I had gotten really close to this on Rock Band 2, and managed it today in Rock Band 3 in only two tries. It's a lot easier in Rock Band 3 than in Rock Band 2, but I still find it difficult. Video is uploading right now, but should be up soooooon

I'm working on it. I managed to FC all the strumming in The Great Southern Trendkill, and I even got 99% on Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)'s solo. Other than that, I tried out Crawl and managed to hold a 4x through most of it, so it's possible that I FC one or more of those songs with some practice _________________

Good luck! It's a great song, the only advice I would give for it: the fast strumming has four green notes before it speeds up, so try to strum those four and hit the first green in the fast strumming a bit early _________________

Suggestion to HMX: Trogdor DLC
Damn. You're doing fucking awesome in 2 days time... wft. I just Failed Free bird (Granted I was using the RB2 controller with the finicky green button and was trying to be super quiet because it's late and the buttons click.)
But yeah, excuses aside... I failed freebird... Just like old times. I played that, rainbow in the dark, and 25 6 to 4 which were all really fun So I will definitely give regular guitar some work. Here's my gameplan though: I'm doing the road challenges 100% (mostly on drums) then I'm gonna endless setlist on drums and maybe guitar too. Then go back and work on the troublesome songs to knock out a couple of challenges that I should be close too at that time. Maybe do some achievments, and then I will start posting scores/going for FC's. Throw in some keyboard/pro action through out, and hopefully I'll get a good way into that, before Christmas when I get the pro guitar and get completely sucked into that.
Dude there is so much too do... Honestly there's no way any other game has this much playtime built in. _________________

I am working on Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away). I am getting 96-98% on the solo consistently, so hopefully I will just get lucky one run and hit it. I am also pretty close to East Jesus Nowhere and The Great Southern Trendkill, but I need to work on the solo in GST and I just need a lucky run on East Jesus Nowhere. I managed a 99% gold-star run with 98% on the bridge, so I imagine that means I could do it

Just like old times
I love it. Seeing you post in here always brings a smile to my face, lots of good memories in the basement, playing RB1
Thanks for the praise, I am trying to get as many FC's as I can on Guitar, if a FGFC is in the cards or not depends on my patience with certain sections (Crazy Train solo, Rainbow in the Dark solo, etc). However I have been fiddling with my keyboard, going through tutorials. I feel like I could do really with it after a LOT of practice, but right now I am having too much fun to go back to basics and suck on a new instrument. With Rock Band 3 I am gonna pull a HellAshes and just shoot for the moon; OMB FGFC. That is the light at the end of the tunnel, the intense goal to aim for. I doubt I will be able to do it for a long time, but if I stay persistent I think I could manage it on Guitar, Bass, and Vocals. As for drums, I know songs like Caught in a Mosh and others will be...well...problematic. Bah, only time will tell. Like you, I plan on getting the Pro Guitar, however I think I will get the Mustang when it comes out, if possible. So you can bet that I will get sucked into that neck of the woods once I get the hardware for it

It's a similar story with me. I managed a couple of 99% runs in RB2, but never got the FC. I might have overstrummed on it once, but I don't recall. After booting up RB3 and playing on-disc songs for a while, I had to give it a try and see what I could accomplish _________________

11/1/10 - MORE ON-DISC GUITAR, A BIT OF KEYS
I got some more on-disc guitar FC's, and throughout my playing I unlocked the ability to play Keys on Guitar, so now I can play Expert Keys and go for a FGFC. I still plan to work on Pro Keys at some point, but right now I am busy going through the usual new-game-motions of playing through on Guitar, Bass, etc. After unlocking the ability to play Keys on Guitar, I played two songs. After playing Whip It, I realized that I would be fucking miserable playing through the 1st tier of Keys, and instead decided to play Cold as Ice. Both songs were sightread FC's, and I tried Llama and Roundabout, where I did very well but didn't FC either. I will go for a Keys FGFC at some point, probably here and there between sessions on other instruments. Some of the FC's I got today were pretty neat; I liked how I didn't recognize some of the songs by name, but found myself singing along during my playthrough. Most of these FC's were sightreads, maybe only three or four of them took multiple restarts. Overall, a productive day with some promising new starts on the Keys. Tomorrow I plan on grinding out more FC's and trying to hit 60-65 FC's on Guitar, possibly a few more Keys FC's.
