|
|
NOTE: This idea is from SpoonMan. All credits for the poll style/idea goes to him.
For anyone wondering whether this is considered a "poll thread" and thus against the rules: The mods have discussed it and ruled that as long as there is discussion of why a song is chosen as harder/easier, then there is no problem. I would ask all of you to try to add some reasoning to all of your votes going forward if possible.
This is a project that will ultimately create a complete Expert Master FC Breakdown for every game in the RB series combined. There are more than 350 songs, and making a single huge list from scratch that anyone can agree on would simply be impossible. This way it is broken down into smaller sections and can be the most "accurate" possible. It's completely based on the opinion of participants of this thread. I did not make any of the rankings based solely on personal opinion.

Group A:
Centerfold
Break On Through (To the Other Side)
The Beautiful People
Bohemian Rhapsody
Before I Forget
Antibodies
Beast and the Harlot
Been Caught Stealing
20th Century Boy
Caught in a Mosh
25 or 6 to 4
Notes: I'm far more consistent with BatH's strumming than BCS's chords. The solos are about a wash between the two as far as I'm concerned. Hence why I have BCS as harder. 20th Century Boy's super weird trips are just hell for me to hit, so it's probably higher for me than most.
Group B:
The Con
Don’t Bury Me… I’m Still Not Dead
Du Hast
Don’t Stand So Close To Me
Combat Baby
China Grove
Crosstown Traffic
Dead End Friends
Cold As Ice
Crazy Train
Notes: Pretty self-explanatory. China Grove is longish with some decent variety, but nothing technically challenging in it. So that's why it's as low as it is.
Group C:
Get Up, Stand Up
Hardest Button to Button
Get Free
Good Vibrations (Live)
Heart of Glass
False Alarm
Fly Like An Eagle
Everybody Wants to Rule the World
Foolin’
Freebird
Notes: Foolin's solo isn't easy for me. So I rank it high. I choke far more often on EWtRtW than I do on Fly like an Eagle, but I expect most people to order them differently. Good Vibrations' only "hard" part, the triplet strumming, occurs exactly once in the song. It's not that hard.
Group D:
I Wanna Be Sedated
I Love Rock N’ Roll
I Can See For Miles
I Got You (I Feel Good)
Hey Man, Nice Shot
I Need to Know
Humanoid
In a Big Country
In the Meantime
Here I Go Again
Notes: In a Big Country has only one part that's really "hard" (the weird chord BS) and it's early on. In the Meantime doesn't have anything quite as tough as that bit, but it's just as long and moderately chokable in just about every part of the song. Here I Go Again is hardest not because of the trill lanes themselves, but because some are positions in really awkward places, and the solo has some tricky bits outside of the trill lanes.
Group E:
Last Dance
Living In America
Killing Loneliness
Just Like Heaven
The Killing Moon
Lasso
King George
The Look
Jerry Was a Race Car Driver
Llama
Notes: Nothing in "The Look" is really /hard/, but that damn chokable lick repeats so many times. A lot of songs in this group are close to interchangable, but I did look at charts and even the easy end of this group has thought put into it.
Group F:
Low Rider
Outer Space
Midlife Crisis
Need you Tonight
Misery Business
Oh My God
One Armed Scissor
Oye Mi Amor
No One Knows
Me Enamora
Oye, this one was hard. Me Enamora is hardest, although I've never had trouble FC'ing it. I originally had One Armed Scissor as harder, because I had a tough time with it, but looking back, the chart isn't anything tough, it's just up-tempo and has some variety. Everything else is technically more complex.
Group G:
Rehab
Rock Lobster
Plush
Sister Christian
Smoke on the Water
Power of Love
Radar Love
Portions for Foxes
Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting
Roundabout
Rainbow in the Dark
Notes: This one was pretty straightforward. All the three bottom songs are solo-less, and the only other songs with solos (PfF and SNAFF) are really, really, really, really, really chokable. The "middle four" are ranked mostly on solo difficulty, but Power of Love and Radar Love are at the top end at least in part because of their trickier riffs. The last two are pretty self-explanatory.
Group H:
Whip It
Walking On the Sun
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (Pt. 1)
Stop Me If you Think You’ve Heard This...
This Bastard’s Life
Something Bigger, Something Brighter
Walk of Life
Space Oddity
Viva La Resistance
Werewolves of London
Notes: This opinion may be unpopular, but I think Whip It's single note riffs are easier than Walking on the Sun's chord changes (especially towards the end). People shouldn't forget the stupid, stupid, stupid lick that repeats 2 or 3 times at the end of Stop Me... It's not super tough, but it's caused countless chokes. SBSB would be ranked higher for the fretting endurance needed, but it never gets any faster than 8th notes (and the hopo bits are even slower), so overall it's not tough. Walk of Life is all endurance. I originally had Space Oddity last on this list, but I realized those were personal troubles of mine, and objectively it's not harder than the last two. I've never really hard any trouble with the last two personally, but Viva's mixing of chords into the strumming sections can be tough, and Werewolves is just all over the place.

Hobo specifically said he didn't remember a few songs that he still put in his lists (Heart of Glass, Don't Stand so Close to Me). You're just disagreeing with bclare, which is different. |

no offense but looking at your lists i could say the same thing. viva la resistance easier than yoshimi, here i go again with its brokenass trills easier than other stuff in that group, and space oddity hardest just to name a few

Hobo specifically said he didn't remember a few songs that he still put in his lists (Heart of Glass, Don't Stand so Close to Me). You're just disagreeing with bclare, which is different. |
I did look at all the charts. I recognize that I may have some uncommon opinions. For those two you mentioned, I suck ass at chords (which is all Yoshimi is) and I'm fine at the Viva strumming. I also never had much trouble with the HIGO trill lanes. _________________

For the love of tits, how can you be on the internet in 2012 and not think "maybe I can Google this word I should have learned in first grade before making a thread about it". |
