Maybe you need to use vibrato on the rest of the phrase to get the full pie?

Yes, that's pretty much what you need to do, although it doesn't always work in all cases, in terms of being able to completely avoid singing the first half of the phrase.

It means you need to activate overdrive the next overdrive phrase begins.

Post 1 is a bit out of date TBH.

Although the OP has gone AWOL, it might be a good idea to start updating the paths to confirm ESF or ESP activations, like we've been doing in the DLC/Imports thread. Since I'm not the best at vibrato, I can only verify ones where I've been able to manage an ESF.

Antibodies: 3/sk1-ESF (redanteater)
Before I Forget: 2/sk3-ESF, 3/sk1-ESF, 3/, 2/ (acer9199)
Bohemian Rhapsody: 3/DOD-ESF, 3/, 3/ (Billtvshow)
Caught in a Mosh: 2/ESF, 3/, 3/sk2-ESF, 3/sk1 (MasterNobody)
Crazy Train: 4/sk1-ESF, 3/sk3-ESF (redanteater)
Du Hast: 2/sk1-ESF, 2/, 2/sk2-ESF (Benjaxlax5)
Foolin': 2/, 2/sk4-ESF, 4/ (Roman)
Get Up, Stand Up: 2/ESF, 3/sk1-ESF, 2/sk1 (r0bd0q)
Humanoid: 2/sk1-ESF, 3/, 2/sk1, 2/sk1 (IndestructibleSD)
Just Like Heaven: 2/, 3/sk2-ESF (PlexShaw)
Living in America: 3/, 2/DOD-ESF, 2/DOD-ESF (redanteater)
Low Rider: 2/AT-sk1-ESF (xtreme2252)
Need You Tonight: 3/sk5-ESF, 3/sk1-ESF (redanteater)
Oh My God: 2/ESF, 2/sk1-ESF, 2/ESF EwO (redanteater)
Rehab: 3/sk2, 2/, 2/sk2-ESF (Cafin8edpenguin)
Something Bigger, Something Brighter: 3/AT-sk1, 2/sk4-ESF (Roman)
Werewolves of London: 2/, 2/sk1-ESF, 2/sk6-ESF (Roman)
Whip It: 2/sk2-ESF, 2/sk2, 2/sk4-ESF (Roman)

That's all I can remember off the top of my head. Apologies if I've missed anything.

PostPosted: Tue Jun 28, 2011 5:25 am    Post subject: RB3 On-Disc Solo Vocal Path Thread(New Thread Owner) Reply with quote

I have decided to make this new thread. This thread will stay up-to-date with whatever new paths are put up. I will just copy and paste most of this.

I have worked very hard to try and find the paths through the previous thread. If I have made any errors while searching and replacing the paths, PLEASE tell me and I will fix them. I hope you enjoy the update, and I hope you continue to provide great paths for these songs. I have also read the rules, I don't think there is anything against this. If there is something wrong with this thread, then a mod please feel free to lock it.

Here you will find the paths for solo vox in RB3

Note: Not every path may be fully optimal, this is the best path that has been posted here so far.

If you're posting a replacement to an already posted path, please back it up with at least a score,a picture/video is great but not needed

Paths in red have been tested to be less than optimal, please improve them!

Path Notation:
2/ means activate at the first window after you have your overdrive half full.
3/ means activate at the first window after you have your overdrive 3/4 full.
4/ means activate at the first window after you have your overdrive completely full.
5/ and even 6/ have been observed - similar to the above, activate at the first window after you sing the given number of OD phrases.
AI means hit all activations the first opportunity possible ("all immediate").
AS means Activation Squeeze. This means you need to squeeze in order to pick up another overdrive phrase just as your OD is running out, thus keeping it running longer.
FRS means Finesse Reverse Squeeze. This means you activate earlier in the window than usual, making it so that your OD does run out at the end of another OD phrase. The goal is to get 100% of the points for that last phrase, and also save the chunk of OD you earn on that phrase for later use. Sort of the opposite of an AS.
AT means After Taps (aka Tambourines, Cowbells, Claps).
A2T means After 2 sets of taps (Rare).
BOD means activate in the window immediately in front of the next overdrive phrase ("before overdrive"). It is used instead of counting windows to skip.
DOD means activate in the window that appears in the middle of an overdrive phrase ("during overdrive"). This is new in RB3 and usually is paired with an ES. It is used instead of counting windows to skip.
sk1 means rather than hitting the first window after the designated number of OD phrases, you should skip it and hit the second. In RB3, the new windows inside of phrases count too.
sk2 means that you should skip 2 windows and hit the third.
And so on...
ES is an End Squeeze (for the end of a phrase). This means that you leave out lyrics at the beginning of a phrase so the pie doesn't fill, then activate at a window mid-phrase, and finally try to still completely fill the pie by the end. You end up with an Awesome on the phrase but your OD stays active longer later in the song. Finding the right number of lyrics to leave out will take practice.
ESF is an End Squeeze Full. This optional notation denotes an ES where the path author has confirmed you can get full credit for the phrase you activate on.
EwO means that the path Ends with Overdrive that cannot be used.

You shouldnt just start a new thread like this without checking with anyone typically we would change the thread owner rather than create an entirely new thread, but you're right it hasn't been updated since December which is certainly not up to date. I'll try to reach rastabot to see if he wants to give it up and if he does, this thread will be merged with the last one.

I apologize for not asking about it first. I will never make a mistake like that again, from now on I will ask, I promise. Also, that would be cool.

Also Benjaxlax, I have added it at per request.

Those are two different things. PB was where you had to hit the pause button to rewind the track in order to give yourself time to activate. It's basically obsolete now since you can use back/select to activate with no lag. Back when PB was used there were activates that could be PB but not ! or vice versa. (! only goes with 2/ and PB can be used with 3/ or more) Also since PB isnt really needed anymore anything that was a 2/PB basically is a 2/!. Anything that was 3/PB or more is just a small window.
