The Joker: 2/ESF, 2/sk3-ESF, 2/sk1 (singemfrc)

just a lil correction, can confirm the ESes are very easy ESFs and also the second act skips three windows to get the ESF

Again, based off looking at the video of the chart. Can't confirm whether the 1st act is ESF or ESP. Won't have access to the song until another 9 hours.

1st act is ESF

The correct path is...
Super Freak: 2/ESF, 2/2P-ESF, 3/
2P means skip 2 phrases.
1st act is full points.
2nd act caps at xxx,444.
3rd act caps at xxx,044.
1st ESF is difficult.
2nd ESF is easy.

haoestrelalp's modification gives the optimal path (by confirming the 1st activation is ESF). 2/2P-ESF would be non-standard notation for 2/sk4-ESF, which is what the second activation was posted as originally.

Right on. Sounds good. I do have one question though. I was under the impression that the p notation was only used in instances where there are a bunch of phrases with no windows in between them that come prior to the esf window. The notation was meant to alert the path follower that the esf phrase isnt going to show up on the next phrase after a certain amount of skips(or no skips). Am I mistaken in my interpretation of the p notation? Iirc, Super Freaks second act occurs where no warnings are necessary. After the 4th skip the esf phrase is the folllowing phrase.

You are correct. When window skips accurately describe the activation window, that notation is always used. There is no rule stating you can't use phrase skip notation, but it will certainly confuse a lot of people who are used to the window skip notation.

Phrase skip notation (i.e. 2/#p-ESF) is typically only used when window skips are not sufficient for describing the activation point for a ESF/ESP activation.

I guess my over-arching point was that putting the same path up with a different notation isn't an update. =)

Regarding the p notation the whole reason for it is so that you don't accidentally start to ES when you should sing or vice versa. If for whatever reason it's completely obvious, there's no need to include unnecessary notation.

The path I used till Parker beat me by squeezing every point on the song
208k+

The correct path is...
Girls Just Want To Have Fun: 2/, 2/BOD, 2/ESF, 3/1P-ESF
  • 1P means skip 1 phrases.
  • 1st ESF is extremely difficult (confirmed in practice mode once).
  • 2nd ESF is difficult but easy compared to the first one.
  • All acts but the last are squeezable (OD ends mid phrase).

Quote:
King Of The World: 4/, 2AI (dconrad23)

The correct path is...
King of the World: 4/, 3/s1, 2/
  • 1st and 2nd acts are squeezable (OD ends mid phrase).
Wow, with detail like that, you and I are going to be best friends!

Heat of the Moment: 2/BOD, 2/, 2/ (cantbreak90)

This song looks pretty straight forward although I may be crazy in thinking 2/sk1-AS on the first act is possible. If it is, there's a small squeeze there i think. If not, you need to vibrato to get 3 phrases under the activation for 2/BOD.

Dang, you beat me to. Just came here to post this path. I haven't posted a path in a VERY long time I tried a few different ones, and this seems to be the best for sure.

Someone please verify:

Uncontrollable Urge: 3/, 2/sk1, 2/sk1-1p-ESF, 2/sk1-1p-ESF (sburymadness/Benjaxlax5)

This path is invalid. The last activation does not have a 2/sk1-1p-ES. After the taps, you have the first phrase which gives you the second OD phrase, then a full phrase (without an activation window). Then you have the first activation window in the middle of the phrase (and I say yahhh | | and I say yahh yahh), then there's an activation window in between the next phrase, so there's no full phrase after the first activation window. It's also noteworthy the phrase after that second window has an OD.

Therefore the path should either be one of:

Uncontrollable Urge: 3/, 2/sk1, 2/sk1-1p-ESF, 2/1p-ESF (sburymadness/Benjaxlax5)

or

Uncontrollable Urge: 3/, 2/sk1, 2/sk1-1p-ESF, 2/DOD-ESF (sburymadness/Benjaxlax5)

I want to say the latter because the former cannot collect the last OD.

For Uncontrollable Urge I used
3/, 2/sk1, 2/sk1-1p-ESF, 2/DOD-ESF
which can score at least 133004 (only got 132924 on my FC attempt on brutal)

(Youre) Breakin Up: 2/, 2/sk1, 2/, 2/ (cantbreak90)

A little tip for anyone whos willing to listen. When pathing try to stay away from 4/s unless absolutely necessary. 4/ are really only good for long stretches of phrases where there are no breaks in between AND there is an OD at the end of the sequence that you want to catch to extend the activation. Either that or there are a bunch of short little phrases again with no breaks in between that the 4/ can gobble up.
In all other cases 2/s and variations of 2/s are your best weapons for paths. Thats just my two cents. Besides 2 acts with 2 squeezes is usually better than 1 act with one squeeze. Just saying.

This doesn't make sense. What is 3/s1? Is that supposed to be 3/ES1 or 3/ESF1? Or is it just 3/sk1?

Make sure to check the legend/key and use the formatting given (such as bolding the song name and including your name in parenthesis) as well. Not just DosParkers, but everyone.

I didn't formally write out my path to King of the World but I'm pretty sure that song has no squeezes, so i assume it's sk1

Is the second activiation in heir apparent really an ESF? I can hit the entire phrase only if I make a short sound in the mic before activating. Just curious. It also could be that my squeezing isn't the best, but these are talkies and I'm changing pitch very rapidly.
