R.E.M. – “Radio Free Europe” +
R.E.M. – “Stand” +
R.E.M. – “Superman” +
R.E.M. – “These Days” +
R.E.M. – “What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?”

T. Rex – “Cosmic Dancer” +
T. Rex – “Jeepster”
(All tracks are original master recordings)
(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation 3 system Oct. 6)
These tracks will be available for purchase as individual tracks, as well as “R.E.M. Pack 01” and “T. Rex Pack 01” on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system and as individual tracks on Wii. Tracks marked with “+” will also be available for download in the family-friendly LEGO® Rock Band Music Store.

The Myriad Burial - "Death Quota for Purification"
Asking Alexandria - "Hey There Mr. Brooks"
Evile - "Infected Nation"
Amberian Dawn - "Shallow Waters" |
Wii RBN Songs this Week wrote: | The Shins - "Australia"
Jonathan Coulton - "Code Monkey"
Flogging Molly - "Druken Lullabies (Live)"
The Slip - "Even Rats"
Steve Vai - "For the Love of God (Live)"
Skeletonwitch - "Crushed Beyond Dust"
Texas in July - "Elements"
Seether - "Fake It"
Emarosa - "Heads or Tails? Real or Not"
Band of Horses - "Is There a Ghost" |
Well, that rules out R.E.M. as the 2000th song.
Also, some singles are missing from the R.E.M. pack, like Shiny Happy People, Everybody Hurts, Bad Day, Man on the Moon and The Great Beyond. Hopefully another future pack is planned.
Still, great week. It's the End of the World alone makes me want the R.E.M. pack.

Eh. Most people will enjoy this, but REM isn't for me and T-Rex is completely hit or miss in terms of funness.
I will probably get ITEOTWAWKI(AIFF) Eventually. _________________

At the moment, yes. However, at some point we'll be getting TJFTMGOUFMTFTCWM ("There's Just Far Too Much Going on Upstairs for Me to Feel Truly Comfortable with Myself") over RBN, which wins if you don't count parentheses towards acronym length (otherwise it's a tie).
Personally, this week's not too exciting for me, but REM's a popular band so it's still not a bad week. I also realized that, with RBN, Harmonix might not have complete control over what the 2000th song is (they could delay RBN songs, but that seems excessive), so we might be seeing a few of the 2000th song poll bands over the next few weeks (so that no matter what rate we get RBN songs at, it's guaranteed to be one of those as long as it isn't an RBN song). |

Awesome T.Rex picks. Can we get a master of Bang a Gong please? |

Woah, that's a lotta R.E.M. To be honest, I don't really know any of their stuff. I do know End of the World though, so I'll probably pick that one up for fun. _________________

It's the End of the World..., Stand, Radio Free Europe, and What's the Frequency, Kenneth? should be instantly recognizable to anybody to who listened to pop or alternative stations in the early 90s and are LONG overdue. Those four are easy pickups, but the rest I could take or leave. Living Well is the Best Revenge reminds me of how much we could use some Midtown in the game.
EDIT: Completely missed These Days- one of the most underrated songs of REM's entire catalog and a fantastic choice for this pack. Check it out if you've never heard it. _________________

Well it's about freakin time we get some REM besides 'Losing My Religion.' I'm surprised at some of the song selections though as almost half of these I'm unfamiliar with. Needs more 'E-Bow The Letter' if only because Rock Band needs more Patti Smith. _________________

EXCELLENT T. Rex picks. The guitar solo in Jeepster will be tons of fun, and the rolls at the end of Cosmic Dancer will break a lot of sightread FCs on drums. GREAT pack. Only other T. Rex song I would REALLY want to see in the game (outside of the Bang a Gong master) would be Chariot Choogle, although that's an INCREDIBLY deep cut. |

No "Everybody hurts" and "Man on the Moon" has me confused. All though post RB3 with Harmony support, etc, would be awesome. |
