RockWiz 1.0

RockWiz v0.5 http://www.savefile.com/files/1942678

RockWiz v0.7 http://www.savefile.com/files/1945636

RockWiz v0.75 http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?dymioymnzjm

RockWiz v1.0 http://www.savefile.com/files/2007494

*NEW*
This is the totally redesigned UI version of RockWiz.
Same basic features, but the point of this version is to get most of the bugs out. All the previous bugs SHOULD BE GONE.

MESSAGE OF THE DAY wrote:
This is the release of RockWiz 1.0! There may be a dissapointment to some of you because there aren't that many new features. Well, that's all my fault. I tried to install Windows XP on my Vista computer on another partition, and Windows XP didn't see it, and then I wiped out my Vista partition (wow). So, I recreated 1.0 completely from scratch (with the help of RockLib of course--thanks Jaguar). There should be A LOT less bugs than there were in 0.75.

Find any bugs in the current version? Report them at scorehero.com and put up a post. Oh, and register there if you haven't already. It's freeeeeee.

Tutorial on how to Copy Game to Computer Hard Drive

1. Insert your game (Rock Band or TP1/2) into your computer's DVD drive.

2. Go into My Compuer, then double click on your DVD drive.

3. Hit Ctrl + A to select all, and then right-click, and then copy.

4. Go to the folder where you want to store the files, and then right-click, and then paste them there.

THIS WILL TAKE SOME TIME DEPENDING ON THE SPEED OF YOUR COMPUTER.

Reaaalllll hard (!)

WARNING: I have no idea if this method works with any of the original Rock Bands due to them being Dual-Layer discs. If you follow this method and get errors using any of the original Rock Band's, then you should try to make a .iso of it, then extract all files from the first layer with Apache, then switch layers, and extract the rest of the files.

Tutorial on how to use ROCKWIZ 1.0

Requirements:
RockWiz 1.0 (Download Link Above)

.NET Framework 3.5 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en

Rock Band or Rock Band TPs (any of them) for the PS2 copoied to your hard drive

Audio File (.mp3, .ogg, .wav, .vgs)

.MID File for the Audio File

Tutorial

1. Open RockWiz. When it opens click File<Open.

2. Navigate to the main.hdr file in the GEN folder which you copied from your game disc. Double click it.

3. Wait until there are songs listed in the box. When there are, select the song you want to replace. Then click "Edit Song Items."

4. Then a choice window will pop up asking if you want to edit one or both the audio and the MID file.

Audio File:
Select the audio file you want to insert by clicking the "..." button next to the textbox.

The padding value box is how many milliseconds of silence you want to add to the song. Default is 2950 to account for the video delay. Feel free to edit at will.

MID File:
Select the MID file to go with your song. This is only MID file because I can't figure out how to convert CHART files to MID files through C# coding. I found it in Java which is like C#, but...

5. Click continue. This will bring up the Progrss window and you will be warned with this message.

Code:
Click start when you are ready to begin the replacing process. The program will then start the process. A messagebox saying "Done!" will  pop up saying that the program has finished. There will be multiple messages that pop up during this process. Click ok. You can close this window when it has finished.

6. Let the program finish and if you find any errors IN THE ROCKWIZ PROGRAM, NOT ROCKAUDIO, report here.

PROCESS WARNINGS:

If this a Message Box appears before RockAudio has finished, DO NOT CLICK OK BECAUSE YOU WILL ENCOUNTER ERRORS.

Please report any errors in the program, post them here. I will attempt to make all fixes in the next version if it is a program problem.

Future Feature List:

Rock Band 2 Support

Wii Support

Name Editing

Some sort of preview

Post features you want to be added if it's reasonable.

Tutorial on how to preview songs

If you have any version of ArkTool 6.x of 7.x, than you can do this.

Audio:

Download PSVGS http://www.savefile.com/files/1539151

1. Open arktool and your ARK files in it.

2. Navigate to the songs/(Whatever song you replaced)/(song).pss. Right-click and select extract file.

3. Save the file to where you saved PSVGS. You will get an error saying there was an error, but ignore it.

4. Open PSVGS and type "e" (without the quotations) and then type in the exact name of the PSS file INCLUDING THE .PSS. (allthesmallthings.pss)

5. Then type a name for the new .VGS file WITH THE .VGS. (test.vgs)

6. Wait for the program to say "Program Finished!" and then press enter.

7. Copy the .vgs file that was created to the DATA folder of the RockWiz program. Then open Command Prompt.

8. Type "cd (Whatever the directory is)/DATA" (without quotations) to change the directory to the DATA directory.

9. Type in "rockaudio play (whatever your vgs name is).vgs" (without quotations). If you hear the song you inserted into the game start to play, then the replace was a success.

MID:
(Required: FeedBack(look on the Guitar Hero side of ScoreHero))

1. Open arktool and the ark files.

2. Navigate to the songs/(Whatever song you replaced)/(song).mid. Right-click and select extract file.

3. Extract it into the songs directory of your FeedBack folder.

4. Open FeedBack and then open the .MID you extracted. If it opens without any problems, then it works. If it doesn't, then you have a problem.

Thank you to Jaguar for making RockLib. It has been VERY VERY usefull in the making of this program.

At the moment, yes, just customs, but i wanted to get a version out so I could see if the basics work. But next version, there will be a lot of new things added to the program that will make so many things easier.

Make the 2.95 seconds a checkbox since most people have already added their preferred offset...

So Yeah... I Get a unhandled exception error after the editing PSS files window. Heres the details.
Anyone Wanna Help?

Actually, since both the PS2 version and the Wii version are both encrypted with the GH2 encryption, you should be able to get a song list from the .hdr file. But since the PS2 version uses .PSS files and the Wii version uses .MOGG's, you will run into a little problem there.

And @ the guy with the file not found error (sorry forgot to quote you):

Have you messed with any of the files in the data folder? Because that error means that it can't find RockAudio, and so it can't convert the audio.

Hmm, did you move the program out of the data folder? Cause that's the only thing I could imagine that could happen for that error to come up.

Is anyone else getting this error?

I got this error after trying to open the GEN folder (after it finished copying for the first time).

I'm also using RB1, not a track pack. I'll be able to test this a lot over the next couple weeks. I'm excited to see how everything turns out.

Yea that's my bad in the copier, but since the copier program is another .exe, that error doesn't effect anything in the RockWiz program.

This is why it's a public beta.

EDIT: Actually, the copier only crashes when you cancel it, but I've never seen this error come up before.

The only thing that I could think of is that if you are on vista and your disc files are somewhere that's protected by administrative rights, then you would need to run this program as an administrator.

I loaded up the Track Pack 1 and got that GEN folder to open after copying. However, once it started to make the PSS it crashed just like the guy above...Same error.

Not using Vista either.

Hmmm. Seems to be a problem in waiting for the keyboard input after showing the warning. I'll take a look.

Updated. Pretty sure the bug is fixed now. Also added padding for the audio.
